OK guys, the mustang needs new tires. Recommend me some that are decent and won't break the bank. The stang mainly takes the wife back and forth five miles each way to work and occaisional errands. Not raced. (Yet. ;)) Current tires are 245/45-17. No snow or ice to worry about in Orlando so summer only tires are OK. The car is stock, we have a Xcal2 with Reinhart tune for it but haven't gotten around to loading it yet. I need a good tire for wet and dry traction since it rains all freaking summer here.

I have Riken Raptors on MM they are z rated and have a AA traction rating. They hook up good and are excellent in the rain, and they didn't break the bank like the Nittos or BFG, and in MHO they work better than the BFG's, and last twice as long as the Nitto's. My2cents worth.

Try some General Exclaims see tirerack.com reviews on them. I had them for 30k and felt they were the best value for the buck. I went with some Falkens rebrands at Les Schwab and wished I didnt.

Thanks for the input so far. More please! I have been internet searching but I am sure I ahve missed a few things.

I am really glad the Mustang has all the tires the same size. ;)

I've been partial to Kumho tires since I had them on my fully modded ZX3. Great traction/handling in both wet/dry conditions. If they had the right sizes they'd be on my DTR for summer tires without so much as a second thought.

My friend has a 2000 Mustang GT and even with a Procharger and putting 350+ to the rear wheels he still runs the BFGoodrich g-Fore T/A KDW tires.
