I've been reading all the tire threads but haven't been able to find a answer to my question, On the Nitto NT555's most guys are useing 245/45ZR-18 tires on the front. The 255/45's rub a little and are a little to big for my likeing. What I'm trying to find out is if anyone has used the Nitto NT555's in the 255/35 ZR-18 size and if so are their any issues with T/C or rubbing ?

255/35-18 will be about 2 inche shorter than stock and may not look right on a big car. If you kept the stock rear size with these fronts, your front to rear ratio will now be increased so you may a few TC issues.
I know someone that did 245/40-18 front and 255/45-18 rear with no TC issues but I find the tires look too small.

Z, I'm using 255/45/18 up front and am lowered with cut springs and have no rubbing issues. Before you ask, my offset and size are equivalent to stock up front.
The 35 series tire is 1.5" smaller then the 245/45. I think you'd absolutely hate it. It would drop the car 3/4 of an inch and would look ridiculously small in the wheel well.
Besides that, if you have TC, it'll probly get PO'd, too.
Ultimately, what are you looking to do?

I just dropped off my widened rims to get refinished today, I going to go with the 295/45 ZR18's in the rear, Most of the guys with this set up use 245/45's on the front, I was thinking of the 255/45/ 18 but was a little concerned about T/C issues or rubbing. Their was a post in the forums about someone saying they rub a little and I didn't want that to happen. As far as the 255/35/ 18 I was just wondering about it.

You'll be fine and no TC issues stepping up one size to 255/45/18.
I'm working out some math to widen my 20" rears and have a question. How big (and what brand) tires have you used on the widened rears?
With my 40mm offset on my rear rims, I think I can go 10" with a 315 , but I need to know some more info to do the math.

315's will fit on a 10" wheel but it doesnt look good IMO, the tire bubbles out away from the wheel. I like the setup on mine with the 20X10's and 285/30's in the back and I only lost about .2" on the stock wheel height with this combo. I would have went with a 295 if they would have been available in the Nitto 555's.
I think 315's would look better on a 10.5 or 11" rim but it will mount either way.

I went to 17x10.5" wheels for the rear of my Cobra to fit the 315/35R17s.

Same combo many of us are running. You'll be really happy with the performance of these tires. Both traction and treadwear are better than anything else I've had on my MM.

At the risk of asking the obvious, is that on the stock wheels, or at least ones with the same size and offset?

The ride is a little harder but the car hugs the road alot better.

What are you doing to your rims, and where did you take them?
I've got some curb rash on the Black car's rims, and want to fix them up...

I took mine to : Wheels America, 1567 N.W. 82nd ave, Miami Florida 33126 Phone # 786-331-4030. Kevin Hosein is the person who runs this place. StevenJ, Rick-n-Miami and my self had nice results. Cost is $129 per wheel to refinish or fix.

what size did you widened your rims too
if it's 9.5'' , why not put the 305/45/18?

On most widened rear rims, the 305 rubs the shock.

The 305 is a drag radial, not much good for the street especially in the rain. I have 2 sets of widened rims, one with 295 street tires, the other with 305 drag radials.

I can get by on the 315 drags radials in the rain on the Mustang, but would not attempt it on the much heavier MM.
Ford Nut, nice collection of Kawis. I have a 2003 Z1000.

Thanks. I hadn't thought about it, but I guess the Eli is now a vintage bike!

Exactly----Thats why I bought some 10" Mustang Bullet rims for my 305s---nice having them pre-mounted too.......

They rub the OEM shocks, some cars more than others. They clear the Naake/QA1 rears with room to spare. That's because the Naake/QA1 shocks are oriented opposite the OEM shocks. OEM = body up/shaft down, Naake/QA1 = Body down/shaft up.
I agree, it's really nice to have the drag radials pre-mounted and ready to go.

You got me thinkin...
The Monroes are shaft up tube down, but they have a dust boot. I'll cut the GD dust boot off and go 305!!!!

Dust boots rubbing probably wouldn't hurt anything anyway.

Nah. it would just annoy me. They are metal dust 'caps'.
I think I can shove a 295/45/20 KDW under there and fit - lowered - and tuck!!
