The kit is wonderful, definately improved visibility. There was a bad diode on one of the systems, it makes both high beam and low beam come on when not suppose to. I have tried contacting them but received no response, and there is no 20 amp diode anywhere to be found so i just took my bright bulb out.
Maybe you got a bad diode also?

Sound like a bad bulb. Replace it.

Are these a dual beam 9007 kit? Most 9007 kits you will loose your high beams. Maybe one side is wired wrong and works fine with high beam because it got wired to your high beam and not low beam.

Got any pix? I myself am looking for an HID kit. That 800k, is it more purple than blue? Vice versa? I really want a kit with the whitest light and only a hint of blue/purple. :D

Usually I think that regular Halogen bulbs are rated at a color temperature of 4000K, That yellowish white

BMWs and Audis have abuot a 5000K rating, purplish bluish whitish color.......

I have an 8000K color temp, which is a solid dark blue, I will post pictures once I get my digital camera fixed.

NEVER buy HID kits with two different ballasts....thos're the bad versions.....always one ballast - also Never buy Hanabi HIDs, they have the worst recommendations around here. Fortunately for me, All these installers around the city get many high-class cars installed with their lights, so they do have quality kits.

I have the sigle- beam HIDs, $525 installed.

Buying the low and high beam HIDs are much more expensive ($1500-2000), but if youre willing to dish out, go ahead. I'm not as affluent as many around here :)

Try not to believe the pictures you see on the internet, they're rarely accurate..but heres a pic of a Maxima with 8000s... just like mine.

Actually, halogens are 3200K, Sylvania Silver Stars and PIAA Xtreme Whites are 4000k, pure white light (sunlight) is 5400k. < 5400 is on the yellow side of white. > 5400 starts getting to the blue/purple side of white. The color of the 8000k that you have does sound right...dark blue. :D

Here is a color temperature graph:

I was looking into a 6000k kit which is the same color as a Lexus IS300.

I found a few dual beam HID kits for 9007 for about $799 from one place. The cheapest one I found was $600. If we had H4's, we'd be in better shape. There is an H4 dual-beam kit for $485 that uses Hella ballast which is the best and BMW / Benz OEM.

Most of the dual-beam kits use the same bulb that repositions itself to shine further out as a high-beam would.

Damn...
well I was kinda close

HIDs are a great mod,
aimed right, they wont have the glare that some of those cars do because they were installed with the intention of blinding people.

Mine are actually aimed a bit low, while deleting the need for fogs, it doesn't have the distance.

But please if you do get them, make sure theyre not at 100% glare.
