The boss just brought out a paper shredder he jammed the ***** out of. Asks me if I can fix it.
It seems stuck and says on the label it needs oil once in a while, so out pops the security manager with a can of WD40 like spray.
So I spray the cutter drums and work them back and forth manually.
Plug 'er in... push the button... BOOM :mad2:.
Fumes from the spray blew from the motor arcing!!!!
So the hell with it. I pull it apart to discover he has sheared 3 teeth of the motor's drive gear.
He's at the store now with a PO!!!!! :stupid:

Use spray silicone with a non-flammable propellant next time.

The spray he brought out beat the spray/oil I had which was, um... NOTHING!!!
I just thought it was funny as hell!
I know...
Next time get a boss who doesn't jam 30 pages in a 6 pages shredder!!!!!

I fix anything!!!!!
This happened to me too, father jammed 18 folded pages in an 8 page shredder, and just hit the forward reverse button one too many times.
And though I didn't spray WD-40 in it, after opening up the motor I found out the main gear had lost a single tooth.

That's interesting...We use WD-40 all the time to lube our shredder at work...
I will keep this info. to myself...would like to see the thing blow...
That would be kind of cool...

Neck ties clear the jams. Tell him to try that next time, he'll never have a paper jam again.
that's why I use this. . . :D
