Well, through a twist of fate I will be working Christmas this year. Rather than stick it to someone I penciled myself in for the A Line (2300-0700). Anyone else working? Maybe we can comiserate :shake:

Let Brittany know that :santaw: will still come, even though you're awake on Watch!

11 PM to 7 AM doesn't seem too bad. :( Maybe you will catch a glimpse of :santaw: and his reindeer making his rounds. And, you will be home in time to see Brittany opening her gifts.
Pulling those 24 hour Christmas shifts is a different story --- and I have had my fair share of those over the past 35 years. Of course, things get really slow on Christmas day. :D

I'm scheduled 7 days a week with 24/7/365 on-call support.. granted on weekends and holidays when the courthouse is closed I only have to work for about 30 minutes unless something breaks.. but it's a pain... oh ya.. and I'm salary and don't even get c-time for coming in on holidays...

Me too, except 8a-4p. And if the bad guys behave themselves, I will get off on time.

Thanks Mary, we've been tracking Santa every Christmas Eve since Brittany was old enough to appreciate it.

Except for domestics its usually pretty quiet around here on A Line Christmas Eve. I suppose I could play the Grinch and head hunt a DWI as there is a statewide push on during the holidays. Most likely I'll just hide in my office :D... 32 years on, 25+ in supervision, and I'm working Christmas? They can kiss my petute if they think I'm humping it.

I traded out with another agent to get Christmas off, but I have to work New Years. Luckily we don't go after drunks and the coyotes take the holidays off.

I am working tomorrow and Monday, we had a very good sales day today, and over all December has been a very good month.

My work kicks ass and is allowing us to work Saturday and Sunday (had to work one day anyway due to end of quarter) and we get double time and a half, and they're paying us Monday anyway.

I would have been off from Friday to Wednesday but I got stuck working today. Time and a half for 8 hours and I only worked 4 so it was a score.

My Dad worked 364 days a year. Always took off Christams Eve. 2300 to 0800 shift at the Ford plant.
Christmas eve is a big day for us.
Sorry to all you who have to work (if you don't want to).
Ray, I have designated my lovely Laurie to drive me and my Family home from my Mom's. My gift to her.... getting to drive my Marauder with a fresh coat of wax for Christmas.....
Merry Christmas everyone. Have a safe and happy. Love and peace to you all.
