Go on You Tube and compared to Ford/Chevy it's not a truck. It is made w/ passenger lite duty parts.

The bed on a rough road will shake so much you will flip it.

yup its a truck alright.... just like the el camino.

its garbage if you ask me. the styling is horrid. the interior looks like a toy truck, and the outside has the most bland body lines mixed with the worst styled headlights and tailghts ever on a truck. complete crap.

F150 is still the best selling truck:banana::banana2:

Truck of the year my ASS!!!!!!!!!!! What a big piece of *****!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got 3 words for TOYOTA, full box frame. Not like the car frame they try to push off. Anybody that's a real truck person knows what a real truck is, so TOYOTA better stick to making little death traps. Not too many cars in their line up with 5 star crash ratings. Oh, did I mention the FORD Tauras was rated the safest sedan in America. But the media keeps on praising the rice-a-roni team, time and time again. The big 3 automakers are not out of this race yet. Watch your back TOYOTA, cause we are coming to kick your ASS!!!!!!!!

Maybe the magazine weenies are feeling sorry for the imports. I suspect that some palms are being greased to say nice things.

The Ford F-Series truck is on its 11th generation and the 12th is in design.

From Wikipedia .... "The F-Series is a series of full-size pickup trucks from Ford Motor Company sold for over 5 decades. The most popular variant of the F-Series is the F-150. It has been the best-selling vehicle in the United States for 23 years and the best-selling truck for 30 years[1], though this does not include combined sales of GM pickup trucks.[2] Analysts estimate that the F-Series alone makes up half of the Ford Motor Company's profits in recent years. In the 10th generation of the F-series, Ford split the F-150 & F-250/350 into two different body styles. The new F-250/F-350 and as of 2007 F-450 is called the Super Duty."

It doesn't take much to give a manufacturer a Pizz Azz Poor reputation despite the quality of products. Ford Motor Company needs to address service and quality within it dealer base. That is where the "customer" sees Ford first and foremost. Here's an example ....

I have owned and driven Fords for the past 15-20 years. In 2006, I picked up a 2006 Ford Freestyle Limited for the wife. We both love the car -- it is nicely styled, is very versatile, travels and handles well, good gas mileage, and also has the 5-star rating. Problem: Ford used inferior materials in the rear brakes. Result: Rear rotors and brake pads replaced at 15,000 miles. They were replaced under a special brake warranty after numerous customer complaints of poor brake wear and extreme brake dusting. This one fact alone has turned off quite a few Freestyle owners (some of whom were prior import purists).

As you may know, the Freestyle was introduced in 2005 with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) mated to a 3.0L Duratek. After only 3 years of production, the FORD big brains terminated the Freestyle name, renamed the vehicle the Taurus X, and gave it a 3.5L engine and a 6-speed transmission. Thus, the Freestyle has become another of Ford bastige children. Worse yet is that the CVT is obsolete as far as Ford is concerned. Problem: There are already reports of dealers refusing to perform service the CVT. Dealers are not investing in training to do CVT maintenance and repair because they see it as a dead end. This ain't gonna get better with time if Ford has abandoned the CVT altogether. Result: More and more loyal Ford owners being treated like crap by the bean counters and so-called leadership at Ford and its dealer network.

Building quality products and standing behind them go hand in hand. The Big Brains at Ford better start figuring this crap out. If I have ANY trouble at at in getting my Freestyle CVT maintained or repaired ..... Ford may have lost another supporter ..... just one at a time is all it takes.

I never thought the day would come when AOL knew more about autos then Motor Trend. They had Tundra at #2 as the most recalled vehicle of 07.

Yup those domestic manufacturers have no idea on how to build a car these days. :shake:

I think hell will need to freeze before the media starts to acknowledge that the jap cars really aren't all that and a bag of potato chips.

We've pulled so much crap in my Dad's '04 150 and it's an absolute monster, and taken it on some pretty tough trails with d-bike's and quad's in the bed, and like on that comparison video on You Tube, nothing moves and the truck stays in a straight line. That Nissan Titan commercial pisses me off, the one with a dirtbike in the bed and it stays completely strapped down when they flip it. Yea, give the F150 the same system the Titan has, with that stupid lockdown thing and it won't move either.

Sorry about your brakes. But if you are having problems with a dealership let Ford know about it. That is one of the things they frown upon, and have taken steps to combat it. Dealers have to keep up customer satisfaction, or their Blue Oval Certification will be pulled. I know this because when I purchased my Marauder, the dealer begged me to score my survey with all 10's, or it will count against them. Also, Ford has closed dealers for under performing and consistent problems, as part of their way forward program, and hear about this all the time at work. I am pleased that you love your Freestyle, because I made all the sheet metal on your car. I can tell you that it is built like a tank. Trust me, I seen weld checks done on some parts, and it's not an easy job breaking those tuff welds apart. Don't give up Ford yet, I've seen alot change in the last year and half; and it's only gettin better. Wait till you guys see the MKS when it hits the streets. Oh ya, I making the sheet metal for that one too, and will be built side by side with the Taurus, Sable, and Taurus X. Peace out.

I read an article in Truckin' Magazine aboutthe Tundra being choosen for Truck of the Year. theysaid the only reason that the Ford F150 did not win was because it did not have any special little gadgets like the Tundra. Pretty much they are just boosting Toyata because it was hooked up with little gadgets and doo-dads. They all LOVED the Ford though.oh and Ford has a big toy in the F150.... its called a motor!

You can count on ^^^^ that.

You can be rightfully proud of your affiliation with the Freestyle. I like it ALMOST as much as the MM and the wife is very happy with everything about the Freestyle. You are right about the safety factor and its build. One of the guys (on a F/S board similar to here) posted pics of a major accident that his wife was involved in. She walked away from the wreck without a scratch. He is convinced that she would not have fared as well in ANY OTHER vehicle.

The Freestyle draws attention because very few people ever heard of it. Ford marketing on it was almost non-existent (sound familiar?). People ask about it in the gas station and in parking lots. One woman said "Wow, what kinda car is that?". When she saw the blue oval on the grill, she then said "Oh, it's a Ford". Right or wrong .... there is an image or snobbery problem that Ford must overcome.

Maybe that is a slogan WE can all use when we see people getting in or out of one of the imports. Just a simple "Oh, it's a Toyota" or "Oh, it's a Honda" etc. with the proper amount of disgust in the tone will help. In fact, maybe Ford should use that in their next major campaign instead of crap like "Opening New Doors" or the "Job 1 stuff".

New Slogan "OH, IT'S A TOYOTA/HONDA/NISSAN/KIA/HYUNDIA, ETC"
