I am getting ready to mount a set of winter tires on the Merc this week. I bought the newer style CVPI rims (5W7Z-1007-AA) and they came with a set of 4 older style center caps (also for Explorers/Rangers). I know you have to have the special shouldered lugs for the newer style caps but what about the older style? It looks like they will just slip on over the stock lugs. If I don't need the shouldered style lugs, can I get by using my stock lugs or should I buy a standard non-shouldered set? ..if so, what size?

Thanks!

well if you end up needing sholder lugs you can go to a junk yard and get em off a ranger. thats what i did

Now that I've mounted my tires I can answer my own question, but in case someone else might be wondering the same thing....

The stock lugs were too long to mount the center caps. "04Impalaslayer", I'll take your advice.
