Made this yesterday, and am very impressed with how well it turned out.
Check it out,...
Browned one small to medium sized onion (chopped small) in small amount of olive oil. Salt and pepper to tase.
Added 2.5 pounds of Ground Chuck (Same pot) until brown.
Drained in a collander, and added back into the pot. Salt and pepper to taste.
Two 39 oz. cans of tomoato sauce added with two 15.5 oz. cans of Brooks hot and spicy beans.
Simmer for about an hour to an hour and a half and serve.
I did not add the thickening packet nor the salt as it was not needed.
Kroger does carry Carroll's mix.
