Thought this was an interesting read

www.theaircar.com

Powered by compressed air, ~150 mile range on a charge...only needs an oil change every 50000km (~30000 miles) with vegetable oil???

Cool concept....if it works.

Compressed air is powerful stuff. Look at the "Car Cannon"

That would be a great to use as a city car only.

Interesting concept brought to life by that former F1 engineer.

F1 engines (as well as other engines, in racing) use injected compressed air for start-up. The MDI engine uses compressed air also for its running, after start up. This very alternative technology could require huge investments as these engines would be running through 5 - rather than 4 - cycles. But since Tata (not a Mickey Mouse company) involved itself, it deserves attention and follow-up.

The was a SciFi book from the seventies, I think it was, called "The Purple Cloud" The main character was on a boat in the arctic. This boat was powered by compressed air. That was the seventies! This is far from a new idea. Just keep in mind that there is always a life-cycle to keep in mind when talking about energy use. How is the energy created (converted?) It comes from somewhere.
