I purchased some off ebay and apparently the 2 have on the back "fomoco" and I'm told they will not work. I tried to program them but they wouldnt take. The good news is my dads 98 F-150 has remotes with the same part number so he's gona buy them from me.

In order to prevent this in the future which remotes do I need? do they HAVE to be the brownish color?

Thanks guys.

I have two I could sell you if you want them. I no longer need them since I have my Vipers.

I saw some on ebay, they had the fob on the key. I would like that. Will they work on my MM? I think they said they were for a newer mercury.

I wouldn't do that. You need to hang on to at least one.

You have to read the leetle beety numbers on the back side of the remote. The above will work with a Marauder. I have one that works on my 03 MM and just bought two more (ebay) with these codes and successfully programmed them to work with our new 04 MM. I think the above codes are actually for crown vic/grand marquis but will work fine with MMs. These will definitely work though.

I did have to try several times with the key off/on dance before I got the timing just right. I guess I am just slow!

If some of you other guys could read and post the codes from the back of your MM remotes we can see if they differ from the above. Seems like there is one more specific to the MM but my memory is foggy.

Nope. Ignition lock will not accept it. That key will work on all new 500s, Fusions, Escapes and 02+ Explorers.

That stinks:bigcry: I get mad, that I have to have a key chain for each car I own. My fob is the same for my Mustang as my MM, so they must be common. Thanks for the info wchain.
