Its amazing i have to pay $100 dollars or i cannot have access to the site:rolleyes:
Especailly when the owner makes 1/2 a million dollars a year.
Most of this year that i paid i could NOT use some of my features or upload pictures and when i asked for help i got NONE! oh Mary did ask to help publicly and that was it.
It seems to boil down to here dont get your car done by someone here cause it turns to **** and complain about it here other wise you get the miserable code thrown on you ,ignored and and told to pay or else.srewballs...

My suggestion here is make this notice alot nicer with the option to pay what you want not what richy wants and also get rid of the miserable code cause thats down rite jerked off to use...Thank you. for the venting..

Mark - this is a standard notice that has been in place since the website launched. It's part of the software. Yes, I agree, the wording may not give you the Warm and Fuzzies. It is your subscription as a Contributing Member that is expiring, which is what it says, not your Membership to the website. No one is required to be a member. Contributing Members are given added features, such as additional space for Private Messages and in the Gallery, along with a forum. Besides the Gallery - please PM me your issues there - what other features have not worked for you? Let's work through this together. You certainly know I'm approachable, but understand I help many and may not always be the most prompt in responding.

The personal income of any owners is certainly none of anyone's business, nor does it have any bearing on this website. This website is operated and maintained through the generosity of the Membership, along with Supporting Vendors and fundraising raffles. The only things enriched by these monies is the website and the membership. Period.

In the end, Mark, you need not make any contribution. We have convenient choices of $25, $50 and $100 through PayPal, for those that choose to do so. If someone would rather send me a check in any amount, that can be arranged too. We do thank you for your contributions over the years.

You are certainly not the first to complain about the notice. I only know so much about this software and we have a small update coming soon. After that is done, I will try to see what can be done about it. Because of the knowledge of website management I've learned over the past 4 years, a lot falls on my shoulders and it can be overwhelming at times. I'm only one person and it has taken it's toll on me personally. There is certainly no need to lash out in a thread about all this, though I respect your feelings.

Yeah, the wording of the notice could probably use some "fine tuning". However, most of us who have been here for awhile pretty much know when our annual subscription is about to expire. When it starts getting close to renewal time -- I'll contact MM03MOK to let her know my intent. If I want to keep my "flags waving" :flag: then I need to make a contribution. Pretty simple really. I am happy to contribute to keep the lights on for MM.Net. :up:

This site has already saved me hundreds of dollars in the past and will continue to do so in the future. I donate what I can, when I can.

I really don't care about the personal income of the site owners. I can tell you that certainly Logan's personal income was several times mine just judging by his home and vehicles I saw in photos posted by him. Frankly most other Marauder owners I know have better income than I do and their Marauders are "play" cars. Having a play car just isn't financially a possibility for us at this time. Both of ours are driven every day to work! This site is a lot of work to maintain and even more work to MODERATE. No one is making a profit on the little we donate toward site operations. I am pretty sure that it is a HOBBY, a labor or love, not a profitable business. How do I know? Over sixteen years in technology management industry.

Wow! I got the notice too and it clearly struck me as some sort of "automated reminder". I appreciate the reminder, I forget stuff pretty often. I knew you didn't sit down and write that particular email, Bunny.

HOWEVER, the post-contribution thank you email had you all over it. It asked about the wife, kids etc... I hang out here a lot even if I don't post as much as I used to (My Marauder has been gone since early 2006). It's less than 2 cans of Skoal per month to maintain the contributing member status. Well worth it.:beer:
