I'd guess they probably have 12 to 14 inches of ice on the lake.
I don't miss the snow and cold of the upper Midwest, but I sure do miss ice fishing and snowmobiling! Way to go Jeremy!

I think they look better there. I guess I am a non-conformist.:banana2:

Yes the car is on a frozen lake. The ice was probably 12"+ thick. You start making ice when the water temp is 32F or below. Just one of the special "quality of life" things you can do in Minnesota:cool:
Here is the link of last years ice depth click me (http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=33420&highlight=ice+fishing)

Snowmobiling is fun! Thanks for the thumbs up on the picture taking. I was trying to "pan" the snowmobile with a slow shutter speed. Move the camera with the object, blurring the background. Shows speed and motion more than "freezing" it with a fast shutter speed.
Thanks for the comments!

If you're on thin ice ... this is the result.

This can have further consequences when the media shows up to do "ice safety" stories.

This last one always cracks me up. They thought they were driving down the access road along the canal. Nope. They were actually "on" the canal.

Nice pics. Let's do a group shot sometime. Maybe we can entice a few others to have a mid-winter get together.

What kind of tires are you running that give you traction out there. I thought that site looked like last year's. Glad you cleared that up. I don't think I would have that much trust in ice to support the MM weight.

My testicles ascend back into the body cavity at temps below 32 degrees, therefore, I would not have the balls to drive my MM out onto the frozen lake.

Jeremy, what lake was that?
Kinda looks like Grays Bay on Minnetonka
