It's interesting, and I think it's for real this time too.

I guess this was comming sooner or later , but as you said this appears to be happening right now in the board rooms in Detroit so hang on to what you have .

Yes, but there is going to definately be an optional Turbo Diesel. I would definately buy one of those. Imagine all that torque in their "light duty" truck?

The 150 has had a v6 for quite sometime.

But as a NO CHOICE OPTION....BULLLLLLLLLLLSHYTTTT T. They better rethink their BS attitudes towards this. We shouldnt change our lifestyle for anyone or anything

They cant do away with V8's because you cant do heavy duty towing and hauling with a tiny V6, there are many buyers on the market who demand something powerful, and a vulcan is not the answer.

I don't see an escalade moving around with a V6 either, it wouldn't move at all. Would be like putting a vtec into a cruise ship.

They will find a way to make the V8 supereconomical, GM will be the first, then ford and dodge will copy it and give it a new name, and all will be well in the world of vroomgofastnoise :burnout:

It makes me sick that we have to feel "bad" for having a V-8. First off, the engine powering our cars is one of the most advanced, efficient, V-8's ever. We are contributing very little to the overall amount of carbon messing up our atmosphere. Thats ok though, i guess, take our fun away, maybe someday the will try and make a prius that is as bad-ass as our cars........shoot me now.......

The Ford F-150 truck comes with the base V-6 engine which no one buys.

I actually never had a problem with the 4.2's from Ford. Dad had one back in his '01 '150 and that thing ran to 150k no problems. They make decent power too for what they are.

Same engine but as a gas engine wouldnt put out anything near what a diesel would.

Japan has a very few V8's and most of their fastest cars are all powered with turbo V-6's. Its very possible that american cars will start having turbos and S/C's to make up for the loss of the V8. It may work as a advantage in the long run.
Besides all this crap with electric cars and cars being built to get much higher gas mileage is the reason why we are going to pay more at the pump. Less demand means higher prices.
