well we almost lostanother MM.... was drivingat an average speed today and took the on ramp to I-190.... about 30 ft aftertaking the corner the whole back of my car spun around and thankfully to some calm driving i saved her from going into the road sign:bows:..... the front end popped off the road, but thankfully it is a very mild curb and snow was covering it making harmless to my car. the driver behind me stopped thankfully and waited for me to back out of my predicament.:o
be careful guys, i know im trying to be.;)

And the accident report said: DRIVING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS. This is the automotive equivalent of "Pilot Error".
Glad you were able to save the MM from any major damage. I did the same thing with my father's new '70 Chevy Kingswood stationwagon when I was about your age. She went sideways down the entire ramp when the rear end kicked out but didn't hit anything. :o It was an inexpensive lesson. Never told my father about it. ;)

i wasnt driving too fast, i was driving stupidly... thursday i hadto make a trip about 45 minutes away, so i threw my 18s back on the car and went out.
REASON: My Snow tires in the rear are undersized, and it throws on the ABS light after going 60 for more than 1 minute
well needless to say, i havent gotten my snows back on yet. and my rears are drag slicks practically from summer;)

it has been warming up around MA lately... supposed 40s and 50s this week. this morning it was 20* though when this happened. i know because i didnt think it was cold enough out for ice, then i looked at my thermometer in the MM. guess i am resistant to cold.
glad you were able to save it.

Isn't there some rule where he has to pay double any damage if it happens when he drives.......

New Englanders become acustom to the cold... in san diego they see 50 degrees as being absolutely frigid... we drive around new england with our windows down in short sleeves... My marauder stepped out on me the other day getting off of 395... just fish tailed a little... I usually do it on purpose, but this one was an accident... and who came up with the name black ice... obviously not a black man... whenever it is something bad it is always referenced as black!! (this is from somebody's comedy act, i am not black myself, just found it funny)

Well, he's going to pay 100% of the repair cost, and I'm not going to file an insurance claim and end up with a surcharge for the next 6 to 12 months, so I'll settle for that.

Black ice is some nasty stuff. Do you have snow tires? anything is better on ice than street performance tires.

We call that "pulling your pucker string" down this way.
We're happy it ended up being nothing more than a lesson, ...and an underwear change.
