Snow.... it sucks..

Okay, as some of you know, I am a police officer. I love my MM and I love my Crown Vic... but after 8 inches of snow and driving in it for 12 damn hours.... I hate snow and don't want to get behind the wheel of that Crown Vic for a couple days... Just me venting off some built up frustration from work last night...

PS. evidently BMW Z4's can't drive up hills in the snow either... I had to help drag on out of a ditch twice last night within 20 minutes. Same car same dumb driver.

Yeah, 27 degrees and Raining on my trip from Buffalo to Rochester this morning.

I couldn't keep count of how many vehicles were in the weeds today. One State Trooper was helping a driver out of the car, about 30 feet off the road in really tall shrubbery, over the top of the car.

My Marauder handled the ice well. I left the traction control on today.

A Jeep Grand Cherokee and Range Rover bumped and spun about 60 feet in front of me. Both eventually wound up on the guard rail. The Marauder, with it's snow shoes on, had no problem stopping and avoiding certain disaster....

What a mess.... Not supposed to be much better for the ride home.

I feel terrible. I drove my MM early this week, it got dirty enough that I didn't want to put the car cover on it. Now it's sitting in my driveway covered with snow. First time in it's life from what I no.

I'd like to see some snow. Or some more rain (we did have a bit last night/this morning). Central NC is in a severe drought right now, bad enough that they're starting to do things like raise water rates and explore how to impose a system that would cut off flow to your house if you go over a certain # of gallons per day.

Send some of that snow down here so we can refill our reservoirs!!

I love it when it's 28 outside and there is 8 inches of snow on the ground. I like all weather that's why I'm in Chicago! :cool: Especially because nothing stops my truck so it's always fun this time of year! :P

Well, it again went through everything. And I am surprised about the efficiency of the Stabili-track system. I had no choice this time but to switch in on for climbing a sharp, long slope - covered by thick ice + fresh deep snow - that drives to my place. The ST system was obviously working during the whole climbing on approximately 500 meters. 200 more meters would have been too much, though, as the car was sliding and slowing down dramatically at the end.

All in all, I feel that MM, MGM are using one of the best chassis ever made.
Such a pity that FORD is giving them up soon...

Outside of getting out of the driveway me, the M and the oem KDW's handled the snow pretty well. MoDot did an excellent job on the major roads here. Also i dropped a couple of 25 lb bags of sand in the trunk one over each wheel and boogied on down the road.

This was the largest amount of snow total since acquire the car.

Cold blowed up my '92 CV.

410,000 km, and she finally let go the ghost this week. Turned her over at -44, and I guess that seal that's been eating a little oil for the last year or two must have fully cracked.

She belches blue/black smoke, and gets about .5 gallons to the mile (of oil, fill it up and check the gas). Rebuilding her isn't the smart option. $5-6k to repair a car worth $2k isn't a good deal. Plus, that isn't the only thing wrong with her. I love the car, but not that much.

Got my eye on ether an '06 F-150 Lariat or Toyota Land Cruiser Turbo Diesel 2 door.

In QC, 500 meters is a little bit less than 1/3 of a mile. But with a slope's inclination above 35 degrees, yes, it feels much longer.

We had snow, sleet and freezing rain, lots of ice, all Friday into Saturday morning. For some reason the town plow jockey forgot to sand my hill while they plowed it early Saturday morning. I made it to the driveway ok and then the car slid sideways off the road into the driveway just missing the Passat. Solid shear ice sc***** to a beautiful sheen... I ended up on the front lawn. Keep in mind I have studded snows on. It was so slick I just couldn't move anyway but backwards. I figured I could get some traction on the lawn and get back on the driveway. I was finally able to rock it out of there and fish tailed it into place. What a PITA! -and- yep, accident city all night long, people have to learn to slow down.
