Thinking about getting this

Not me, my little brother though, he gets his license next year. I think it would be a good buy, if it stayed under $1000, to me, seeing how I had a SHO, I don't think this particular car is worth over $1k. It's got a lot of miles, but one thing that concerns me, is you can't *****ing tell if the cams have been welded without going into the engine! That's the only thing that's holding me back to tell him to bid on it. What would you guys do?

I concur wouldn't spend more than 1K on that car.
I would look for something better being there seems to be no rush.
