I was curious if anyone uses the homelink feature? I actually went through the procedure to program it using the that I use to open the security gates at my complex, but there is no position that I put the mm in to get it to work. My next step is to run over the call box and see if it works then.

It's designed for garage door openers. Not sure if your application applies. Mine works great at home.

Security Gates operate at a higher frequency than garage door openers for a higher level of security.

In order to get the Home Link to operate at the higher Security Gate frequency try operating the Marauder at a higher rate of speed when using the Home Link while approaching the Security Gate. You will also have to push both Home Link buttons at the same time to get the highest possible frequency!

You will only need to try this once. If it does not work you will not have to ever worry about it again.

Be sure to report back on the results.

sailsmen...^^^That's funny...LOL

Works for me (garage)...In fact, just for fun...the 2nd & 3rd channels operates the HID's on the Bronco. I freak my neighbors out, when I turn them on as I'm turning the corner in the MM, a block away, and the Bronco is parked in the driveway....lol

Should work for you...put your remote gate opener closer to the blinking red light on your over head counsel...

Good Luck...

Same here I've had two Marauders and the homelink feature has worked on both.

Mine will open my gates and the second button will open my garage door.
I have HomeLink on all three of my cars and they all work the same way.

No problem

OK, I tried it but all I did was bounce off the gate, you know, those High secerity gates are tough.;)

OMG, I hope the MM is ok. Try a hgiher speed for a higher frequency!

Frankly, I never thought of trying Home Link on a security gate. Although I lived in a comlpex for 6 months.

I think its a smart idea. I don't know if you can get the mfg off the gate and see what info they have on the web.

As prev said, assuming it's note a remote gate, it maybe not being able to get it close enough to the HL to program. Maybe different car angles to the gate sensor when u try to program?

If it's a code or a toll tag it prob won't work. I think the garage is a radio freq?

It opens my garage, and the garage at MIL as well as gate at MIL. I hear that it will open the gate at a work building if they have remote entry as well.
I did reset it all when I was programming it the first time as to make sure it was cleared out, then programmed all three at one time.

Mine opens the garage but does not switch on/off the alarm. I did not try to program that last function...

Mine works... I live in an apartment building where you have to roll your window down and insert a key to open the garage door. I bought a universal garage door opener, and in the middle of the night, installed the receiver in the control box for the garage! After programming the Marauder to the included trasmitter, I just roll up, hit button number one, and viola! (Open Sesame!)

Mine works for my Garage door opener as well.....and it works for my security gates at work...keep in mind that if your gates have a rolling code you have to push a button on the opener-receiver on the gate mechanisim to get it to recognize your cars frequency. Check the Marauders Manual for rolling codes...

I tried to program my shop's bay door but it's one of those units with a learning button and I don't have a 12ft ladder to reach it lol.

I have one button programmed for the garage door and the other turns on lamps inside the front door of the house via X10.

If you have tinted windows, try rolling the front windows down before pressing buttons.

Yes, it will. You have to program the remote to the HL, then teach the other car's alarm the HL as if it were a new remote.

Ed, sounds like your gate is rolling code. HL will work, but you gotta teach your HL to the gate just like above.

Don't you know that 'Home Link' is a pair of Ruby Red Slippers?! Maybe you're saying it too fast... 'there's no place like home...' :dunno: works for me!

Garage works fine, it is just finding the button in the dark that is the problem.

You might be able to have someone like, Magindat /\/\/\/\ to rig it up that the security transmitter is mounted in the homelink space and thus opens the gates for you.

Ask around someone must have taken the system apart at sometime.

Oh yeah...I also noted that I have to hold the Homelink button for a second then release for it to work, rather than just a real quick press.

Black and Decker makes a plug-in extension cord for indoor outdoor use that has the homelink receiver. Just orderd two of them.
Thinking I might have one activate an air raid siren when I'm coming up the block. :D

I am a technical service rep for Overhead Door and I program 10 of these damn things a day. The Homelink systems in 03 & 04 will operate any digital receiver operating between 300 & 400 MHz. All Garage door manufactures went from analog to digital in the early 1980's. and went rolling code around 1996.
If your remote device has dip coding switches (fixed code) the HL will operate as soon as you program the HL transceiver. If your remote device has no switches inside (rolling code) you will need to pgm the HL first, then press the "learn" button on the receiver, then press your programmed HL button 3-4 times. The receiver should operate. If you need further help you can contact Overhead Door residential operator techs at 800-275-6187, press option 2 for Rick. I am always eager to help another Marauder owner.
