This is some pictures of my first car, a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria (p71) police interceptor.

I bought shortly after turning 16, I loved this car, went to hell and back about 7 times.

I drag raced a buddy that had a 1997 Mustang Cobra (4v) and i got my butt handed to me by 4 car lengths. Thats when the idea popped into my head, what if that motor was in my car??!!!

Well a couple of years later the Mercury Marauder was born...

Thats when i fell in love, i test drove one in college when i first came out, and it took alittle smooth talking the dealer... (i have been test driving all kinds of cars for fun for years) and afterwords i wanted it.

Well long story short about 2 years ago i was out with a friend test driving cars for fun and we came across this dealership, got out, he said" oohhh a cobra" ('03 camelon convertible) and i said "ooohhh a marauder" ('03 black 300a 36k mi)

well i bought it and it all started from the little seed of and idea back when i drove this car on a weekend and drag raced a friend.

just thought i'd share, but THSES ARE THE ONLY PICTURES I HAVE of it and these are just after the back quarterpanel went through 2 small trees, it still fired right up (after fliping the fuel pump shut off switch)

I just ran across these picts and put them on the computer and wanted to share the story

Clear corners! lol
Yea, I had a flawless '95 that I sold a month after I bought the Marauder. I just love Panther's and have always wanted a Marauder.

Man do I miss that car, I had some awesome times in that thing. I'd love spanking Camaro's and GT's all the time with the "granny top" Vic. It was far from stock.

The proper name is a "landau" top. How can I complain? I got it for free with 41k on it back in '03 and it was a '95. I really didn't care what it looked like. Usually the people who made fun of it, ended up losing to it in a race so it didn't matter to me!

I used to rent Towncars in Canada when ever I was somewhere where I had to rent a car.

I also had my 78 Lebaron wagon, which was a mid sized car at the time but would be considered large now.

Anyway the Marauder was the closest thing to a Towncar that still offer my Mustang Performance that I missed when i had my gutless wonder Subie.

Loved the size and comfort of the big car. I drove my Dad's Merc Parklane convertible in my teens. What a monster....I loved it! Lots of power, great engine growl, guys trying to beat me off the line at stop lights.A thrill. A few years ago I bought a Crown Vic, loved the size and comfort but where was the thrill? When THe MM came along, I traded "Al" for my Silver Birch and never looked back. I think the Parklane might have had a few more ponies, but who's counting?

I'm guessing those "mods" seriously affected your gas mileage. Sorry about the crash. :bigcry:
