Just got back to NJ from Ohio with a 04 Black Marauder (300A) dark charcoal nudo interior. 17,600 miles. Previous owner was 84 and just bought a new Merc Milan. Car is in spectacular condition in and out. Optional equipment includes 6 disc CD in trunk, trunk organizer, moonroof, heated seats and front license bracket (wow). Where there any other options available for 04? And my second question is the chrome exhaust tips will not come clean. They seem to have a coating on them. Is it a good idea to remove this film and then polish them? Lastly, are there any issues to look out for? I intend to keep the Marauder many years in stock condition. Thanks in advance!!:)

First to get the exhaust tips clean use the eagle one never dull stuff that comes in the silver can go to your local autozone, etc they will have it will clean them right up. And to keep a great MM in good condition for years get a garage and a second vehicle so it wont be your primary vehicle. That will make all the difference. Also use zaino polish it does a great job on black paint or use whatever your comfortable with.

Lastly, are there any issues to look out for?
YES !! Watch out for the mod bug. Once bitten, you'll never recover.

Thanks guys! NO MODS here! It has a spot in the garage next to our 90 Mustang GT. 28,000 miles since new. (bone stock) Daily drivers are a 03 F-150 4 door and a 92 voyager 271,000 miles and still going strong. I also use a 99 Crown Vic police interceptor for my job with the County Sheriff's Dept. There is no comparison between the CVPI and the Marauder. None at all!

No mods, yeah right.

At minimum, you owe it to yourself and the car to get a tune. There is no comparison between a bone stock MM and one with this simple mod.

After that........well, there is no known cure once bitten by the mod bug.:)

"It has a spot in the garage next to our 90 Mustang GT. 28,000 miles since new. (bone stock)"
That may be the very last bone stock Mustang GT in existence!
But I'd almost lay odds you're gonna do some mods to the MM.

Welcome aboard to another LEO. Sounds like you picked up a real beauty. My DTR is still my daily driver 24/7-365. Same options as yours. As others have said, get a tune, night and day difference and you can easily return to stock.

Welcome aboard. :welcome:

They put a more substantial tranny in the '04's and added traction control. Also took away the clock, map pockets, full size spare, and fuel door release. It's not a mod, but get and install a Pro-guard from Dennis Reinhart. It's a stout plastic "skid" plate that installs forward of the and supports the rear valence, cuts down turbulence, and improves fuel economy. Instillation takes but a few minutes, and it costs ~$50 shipped. :)

Over the years I have seen to many $$$$ invested into all kinds of cars. Motor mods= ruined stock trans rears etc. One run down the track, BANG! thousands of $$$$ up in smoke. They will both remain stock for now. But thanks to all for your feedback!!

The times have changed.

The SCT Tune from Reinhart has it's genesis from Jerry W., the developer of the original tune for the Ford test mule while under contract to Roush.

Unfortunately the bean counters got a hold of the Marauder and were more concerned with CAFE. The Marauder was subsequently detuned.

To drive the Marauder the way it was designed and developed get the SCT Tune from Reinhart.

You will not be disappointed.

The rear spoiler is a dealer install option, not a factory option.

+1, on what Sailsmen said. Will not hurt the engine/tranny in any way.

These cars are seriously detuned from the factory, a tune will do nothing more then make the car perform like it should have.
