My friend and I have this down to a science, now!
Dave, this one is for you! You had better show at Bradenton!

This is very well matching marine grade vinyl. UV resistant. The circle is 4" diameter. Here is a detail...

This is on a 'scrap' but the piece is big enough for the arm rest you wanted to do.
More to come...

Very nice!
I had considered opening an Embroidery shop a few years back, my idea was that embroidery was going to become the next form of tattooing -- since tattoo's were getting so popular, the real tough people would be looking for the next form of body art preferrably with extra pain to get it, figured embroidery was it!

Then I got up the nerve to do my headrests...
http://www.mercurymarauder.net/showcase/files/3/5/4/8/IMG_2336.JPG
He made them 'face' each other, which I think looks kinda cool. They are low on the rest because my head hits the top portion of the rest and I want them to stay pretty for as long as possible!!

You can kinda still see the mark from the stretcher ring, but that will go away with time and a few warmer days.

My Group sales always bomb. Seems people have a hard time getting together. My girlfriend warned me these would be a hit and I should decide on pricing.
Ship me your headrests. You pay shipping. I'll strip 'em, have them embroidered and recover the core and return them in your box for $200.
See the jacket thread, too. We can do names in standard fonts and have the MARAUDER word emblem digitized as well.

Rich, when you pick thread, does it translate to a Pantone color? I want to have ProRauder done in my headrests but want to get a close match to the True Blue Candy paint.
I can go down to a friend's place that has pantone charts to find the right shade if it helps.
These are awesome!

Rich, definitely want my headrests done!
How about a gods head for the center front & rear arm rest?

The front armrest has to be recovered. That's what I did for Dave. I got him a piece of Marine grade vinyl to go over the arm rest. It'll need a piece of 1/4" foam under it and need to be upholstered which shouldn't be hard. As for the back armrest, I think you have to take the back seat out and unbolt it and I think that flap is hognosed to the back of the seat, so that would have to come off. Bottom line, if you can get the arm rest out and I can get the leather off, it can be done.

Okay, since you can do the leather arm rests, can I assume that you can also do the leather Marauder jackets? I love 'em like they are but, they could use a little extra to really make them stand out.

The leather of the jackets is actually thicker than the leather for the upholstery. Plus, there's the issue of removing the liner and re-sewing it. Otherwise, you'll see the back of the embroidery which is neatly done, but isn't the prettiest thing in the world. I'd give the jacket 3 times the thickness of the Marine Grade Vinyl I used for the armrest and at least double the headrest material.

Will look at it this weekend.
Thanks Rich!
Rich, you are not charging enough.
Flame away everyone, but Rich is providing a kick ass service and probably making next to nothing.
Everyone deserves to be compensated for their time.
I make more than that making a grill.

You're right. Especially for all the empty inquiries and silly questions I get on PM! I guess I'm just nice like that.
This stuff IS a pain in my ass, but I like to share. So, if you want it, have your ****nit together and jump, froggy!
I'm not raising the price, just reducing my pain...
Thanx, Zack. Very cool!!!
BTW, send me your headreasts! I owe you for the grilles.

Make an informative post and have it stickied in a forum. Then link everyone to that in the PM's.
As for the offer, thanks, but Im not sure its my cup of tea, being that there is a gods head 3 inches below already.

I know what you mean. I wanted a way to get the green accent into the car, though! It's REALLY nice work, too.

Pantone? Not sure what that means, John. There's like 18 or so colors mounted in the machine. I can usually get close enough.

How about if I send the thread along to use? I found some really cool metallic threads on this site:

The Violet color is the one I want for the logos.
Let me know.
Thanks!

Missed this post. The machine is pre-loaded. We get as close as we can. If you wanna pay for a sample, I'll do a piece of something and send it to ya. I'm sure the purple is 'close enough'. AAll the threads have a very nice 'glow' or 'sheen' to them.

That would be great Rich and I don't mind paying something for the sample either. Before you do the sample in that ZEX Purple color (or the closest that matches) I will try to find the Font I used to do the vinyl I had on the car.
Still a smokin' deal and thanks for offering this to everyone.

There's quite a few fonts loaded, as well, so I'll find the best match.
Keeping within the standards is what keeps it cheap.

I know I'm being a pain-in-the-ass (what's new, right? :D) but I did find the font:
Vipnagorgialla
http://www.1001fonts.com/font_details.html?font_id=1008
I used 72pt Italics for ProRauder. Also, this font is extremely close to the factory MARAUDER logo on the back bumper too. In fact, I would say this is the one they used or at least based it on.
Cheers!

I had an idea while I was at lunch.
My friend charges $25 for custom baseball-style hats. So, why don't you send me $35 to cover the shipping and paypal fee and at least you'll have a hat rather than a throw-away sample.

I can't get to that font at work. Standard Eras Bold ITC that comes with Microsoft office products in bold italic is super close. If it just needs to say 'MARAUDER' we have the actual MARAUDER logo digitized...

Thanx Mary.
Anyways, digitizing is 100 bucks. So, if you want something OTHER than what is available, pay to have it digitized!!! (Again, no profit for me.)
I don't own the machine or know everything that's in it. It's a friend of mine with a business doing little pieces locally. My stuff is like a big deal to him cuz it's not his typical boring baseball caps and monograms.
Here's the Eras...

I offered to do it for John as a non-wasted sample since he's picky and anal about his colors (and everything else) and wouldn't be afraid to pay to get his headrests done. Also, he has patronized me and helped me in the past. It was at my pure cost. I'm not in the business of doing hats.
You can go to our MM.net CafePress store which is linked on the left side of our home page and order anything you want with a GH logo on it. I have the hat from there and like it very much. Proceeds benefit MM.net.
