I am not the one selling this, but I thought that it was too awsome not to post.
A local import dealer, Muncie Imports, has a Delorean on the lot. I do not know the miles or price (dealer was closed when I spotted it). If someone is really interested I could go back and inquire further.

Dang, a DeLorean! My cousin had one about 20 years ago, I thought it was about the baddest car on the planet. Wonder how many were built, in total.

There were 8000-9000 DeLoreans made between '81-'83. '82 was actually the last year technically though. I'd want 1 of the 2 Gold ones though.

I agree with disappointing 'performance' if you could even call it that. A Northstar conversion. That sounds FUN!!!!

My brother still has one in his garage. It hasn't been driven in years...

Jarrod, thanks for the production info; guess that makes them more rare than the MM.

Didn't know they made any in gold...what was it, an anodized finish or paint over the SS?

Slow, yes. That's why I would recommend the Mr. Fusion mod. :D
I test drove one for sale down in CT a few years ago. Guy was selling it for 16k. Felt heavy, but the "cool" factor more than made up for it.

the cool factor is way up there. but the deloreans had one major thing against them.... even the cool factor couldnt outweigh this problem.

PARKING LOTS!

tell me where you would have room to open your door?:D

you canstill get a delorean made. i believe it is like the Avanti, some company bought the tooling for the car and al the left over parts and continues production by order.

Your welcome, oh no, they were actually made from real 24kt Gold. I don't know what it's called, but it was somehow "plated" ontop of the SS to have it molded to the original panels. I believe the VIN's were numbers 4300, and 4301. It has been said there are 4 total Gold DeLorean's, however, #'s 3 and 4 were made with just "leftovers" from the original plating from the first two and aren't as good quality. The first 2 Gold's though, one I want to say is in Texas, and the other is somewhere in Nevada.

One option made me laugh.... high performance engine, 197 hp, $5,750!!!!

I'd buy an older one and swap a better engine into it. Naw, who does that? ;)
