:cool:My wipers mysteriously started going on last October for no apparent reason. I checked out our web site and members indicated the motor had a shorting problem and needed replacing. My situation may have been a little different in that the windshield washer went on with the wipers as well. My mechanic replaced the winshield wiper module and the problem disappeared. My point is don't assume the motor is necessarily the problem. See if the washer goes on with the wipers for no reason. May only be the module. A lot cheaper then a new windshield wiper motor.

My windshield wiper problem started the same way with the washer coming on by itself. It would empty the reservoir. Don't be surprised if the problem comes back in let's say ...... 6 months -- then about 12 months after that. Bring the TCB to their attention. Many of us have already been through this cycle.

05-4-9 is the TSB for "uncommanded windshield wiper operation".

Check with Big Dog Jim, I think he had the same problem.
