Everytime I sit down, including in my Maruader I get this major rib centred pain.
I did hurt my shoulder, lifting something I shouldn't have, and have a bad back already and that may also be a problem.
I am not having a heart attack, i think.
It has been this way for a month and a half.
I have wrapped my ribs, with a back support and it helps tremendously.
I'm going for xrays tomorrow, after acupuncture.
Anyone else have an Idea?

Sounds familiar - I've cracked a rib before, and that's what it felt like for weeks afterwards. Unfortunately, there's not really anything that can be done, but wrap it up, take pain killers, take it easy and wait for it to heal itself. Hopefully it's something else...

I know this is gonna make you guys hurt, but I took out 8 of 'em, all at once, on the same side, in a fall while working on a deck. Even today, the X-ray reports come back: chronic broken ribs 'cause some of 'em still look like Z's and such. You learn to breathe by gently blowing out, then letting the lungs gently re-fill. It's impossible to actually breathe in. Sitting upright in a recliner becomes the bed for 6 weeks; that, and taking drugs, lots of good drugs,,,, Good luck
Oh, something else, wrapping the chest does little or nothing, and is no longer used as a treatment, since it supposedly increases the chance of catching pneumonia ...um coughing is very bad. My doc gave me prophylactic antibiotics to be sure pneumonia did not occur.
Again, you have my sympathy.

Xray place was swamped today, no parking. The power failure yesterday doubled up everyone today.
The acupunture massage therapy physio guy didn't think anything was broken though. He explained how my torn shoulder muscles will cause all these things to happen, so I'm hopeful.

Suddenly, my chronic joint pain seems so minor.

I was having some significant chest pain once. Gripped me when ever I sat down or twisted my upper body. Finally went to the ER around 1 in the morning. Hooked me up to an EKG and did some x-rays.
Pretty much had walking pneumonia. Little tiny bit of crapola at the bottom of my lungs. I thought I was having a heart attack or broke a rib. I was barely able to get in and out of my wife's truck to make the trip there and back.
I had just gotten over a cold that ramped up hard, and took about 2 - 3 weeks to work itself out. Got some meds and felt better.
If/when you get in for the x-ray's I think it'll explain a lot...
