Statistics show that so far this winter, Montreal received 2.60 meters of snow (the record is still 3.00 meters in 1947).
I live up north to Montreal and while I did not measure the quantity that we received, I may tell you that we got much more than in Iowa. Photos coming soon...

In Iowa it's not the snow - at least right now. It's the ice. when snow plows are getting stuck, there's a problem.

Only 2 inches of snow can close roads because of wind and drifting.

Snow ain't everything. We have also had temps that approach -40 with wind chills.

Appears as mostly blowing and drifting.

Living in the lake effect area of Northeast Ohio, what you posted is what we call a 'modest' amount of snow.

8 to 12 is the norm in mid snow belt.
The folks 30 miles east of me call THAT modest where 12-18 is the norm.
This of course is only the case if the lake has NOT frozen.

I have had 22" of non-drifted snow and the Vator plows right through it.;)

The Focus however....:shake:

yeah, the drifting is the problem... some drifts are like trying to ram throught 4 foot high 10 ft long mud brick!!
