yeah i do sometimes... ask first or don't second guess yourself.

Oh boy to you miss the point of this poll I'm not second guessing anything and sure I edited the post. I thought maybe you couldn't see the "just curious" part and upped the font and then defined "curious" for you so you did not have to look it up.

When I copy/pasted what I wanted for a thread header from something I had typed in an IM I guess I actually selected more text then I thought and got what the computer want to give me for a header heh...yeah I did a wtf when I saw the header myself.

Being a little playful, are we? ;)

But I didn't view the question as stupid/unreasonable. These days we go 100K + between plug changes, when in the old days it was often as frequent as oil changes. Service stations had little sand blaster plug cleaners, and we cleaned, checked and gapped them regularly. I guess out of habit I check the gap before installing new plugs; but a visual inspection is prolly sufficient. :)

Always check the gap there is no guaruntee that they were gapped properly from that factory or that nothing happened during shipping/storage to change it.

I guess the one exception would be those goofy Bosch platinum "+4" things with the odd ground/electrode setups. But I would NOT use those in my MM to begin with.

Whether you gap 'em all at once and have them waiting or do it one at a time is your call. I don't think either way is any more or less efficient than the other trusting you are organized while doing the job.

But wait! If the plug change interval is 100,000 miles, and say, you drive the 'ol girl 20,000 per year; that's 5 years per data point in your time study. If the protocol requires 10 data points, per parameter, that's 50 years, just to collect those data on a single hypothesis! :eek:

I'm 67 and have this nagging suspicion that I'm not gonna last until I'm 117; however, hanging out with you guys is keeping me young .....perhaps I'll make it. Oh lord, can you imagine what a grouchy bastage I'd be? :geezer:

Plugs get changed as soon as they start misfiring.
