Interesting point. It used to be. But now the cars are available used for reasonable money and the younger guys have joined our ranks.
Hopefully, they will quickly learn the maturity our club is built on and become part of it!!!

No i bought mine i ended up paying more for the car than i bought it for. The title was always in my name its just that dad paid for like 3000 of it and that was to make sure i put the Impala back together. That way he could hold that over my head, he might be a mechanic but hes no body guy. I ended up spending alot more to get the car back to its old self than what dad put into my car and needless to say i got no money from him. :bigcry: One day he just might not see a couple of loads of grain. DARN  Well i gots to get my money back some how

Oh and technically, the car is in my pop's name for insurance reasons . . . friggen NY rates (it was a mutual decision, no way we'd pay that much a year for it to be in mine name and the price break is only in 5 years), though I payed for half, and for gas, upkeep, and what ever comes my way; And I'd fight 'em with a stick if they try to take off and drive it without me :P

last year i paid $3300 for insurance.... it was because i did not have 3 years driving experience. MA insurance is terrible. the policy will drop to $1600 this year though.

my dad bought my 300A for me when i was 17. I did need a vehicle at the time but i never thought it would be my dream car. so it wasnt quite an impulse buy but more of a splurge. i never thought you could get so many compliments about a car ,every one wants to know what it is, everything about it, and where they can get one. For a vehicle that was only made for 2 years we sure do have alot of fans

Marauderboi's Daddy here, How many of us out there wrecked (major or minor damage) there 1st car, Would you rather have a wrecked Crown Vic or a Marauder new drivers can make mistakes with time comes experience, with experience comes a Marauder. Mark my word Marauderboi will own a Marauder when the time is right. I can say that at 15 he (Marauderboi) is more mature than some on this site.
( why don't you post who is the youngest member with the earliest join date )

And i thought $2000 a year was bad. Man the rates really do suck in MA.
When I had my Mustang GT (cobra) in England, and I was 24 they wanted $7000 a year for comprehensive but I settled for $2000 a year for 3rd party.
In England they didn't count they fact that I have been driving in Canada for 10 years already and vise Versa. Although when I did come back, again I started fresh, wish someone told me to take the $25 a year insurance upkeep policy, I had to pay about $1500 comprehensive which later dropped to $700 a year after 3 or so years.
Having a Mustang in England was fun, but expensive.
With My Subaru and 10 years of driving record / insurance I was paying $1400 a year, but when I switched to my Marauder the price went down to $900 a year full coverage.
A 17 year old I new In England, rich Arab guy, for him he wanted to get a Ford Cosworth Sierra, called the Merkur XR4Ti over here, but they wanted $35,000 a year for insurance. His dad said no. Instead I ended up driving him around town, if I was going the same way. Kind of a good thing given the amount of Hashish he smoked. He did later get his Diplomatic plated Mercedes shipped over and used to drive me around but with his 1 pound block of Hashish in the centre console I was always worried about him getting caught and both of us getting deported.
