looking for some tips on storing my MM, northern minnesota winters and road salt. Should a guy start it once and a while or will the condensation rust it's exhaust system, how about a 1.5 amp maintaince battery charger, any suggestions would be helpful. thanks :)

25 deg. and snow, a little to early, ya! I was just wondering if the Marauder needed just a little extra TLC during it's long winters nap.

I don't know about a new car, but I have a 1927 Ford Model T (My Grandfather's new) and a 1936 DeSoto Airflow. I keep antifreeze in them year round. I put Sta-Bil gas preserver in before I put them in the barn. I put a tarp on the floor to keep moisture from coming up from the floor, I make sure the battery is at full charge (no problem on a new car) and I NEVER remove the battery. I drive them in in November, don't cover them and drive them out in May. I've never had a problem doing this. I don't try to start them during the winter. These cars are old.slow and cold.Easy to put away.....a Marauder

With my old ones that I store, I'll put a tarp on the floor, full tank of gas, take out the battery, put some rodent sticky paper in the car and in the engine bay, throw the cover on her, and leave it till spring. In the spring, I will start it up, run it for about 10 miles, then change the oil and filter and plugs, check everything else, and ready for another year of racing and crusn'. I've done this for many years with no problems at all.

Similar to what is above. I park my Cobra in my garage over a tarp, pull the battery, change the oil, make sure all fluids are topped off, put Stabil in a full tank and run it a while to make sure it gets through to the engine, check tire pressure, and put my cover over it. I start it once during the winter and let it run until the temp needle is normal (vertical). I'm not worried about rust in the exhaust since I'm only running it once and since half my exhaust is stainless steel. I may go to max tire pressure this winter to reduce the flatspotting of the tires. It eventually goes away, but it is annoying until it does.

When I store my car I place the car on four jack stands. I roll a tarp from both ends towards the middle then I place the tarp under the middle of the car. Jack up the front, roll the one end of the tarp towards the front of the vehicle, place two of the stands on top of the tarp under the frame, and set the car on the jack stands. then I perform the same procedure for the rear of the vehicle. Oil is freshly changed, Stabil in the fuel tank, and the battery removed and placed on a 3/4" piece of plywood to prevent the battery from draining. In the spring she's ready to roll out the door. If you do this, remember to flip the air suspension switch in the trunk.
