ok... I was driving my 03 marauder down the street to give my buddies a ride... i got on it pretty hard for a minute, got a little squirly and let off turned right at the stop sign to pull up to the light the car dies......... start put in N or park and start back up cant remember which one, hesitated to start kinda (I think) and started having a squeeling noise or some odd noise from somewhere and drove it down a backroad the car was hesitating a little bit when i hit the gas but picked back up I came to a stop and the car was idling kinda low and just a tad rough and as soon as i went out to look it died again...... I go to try and start it back up and I hear a tink noise (kinda like starter is stuck or something) engine did not turn over or anything just turn the key to start and TINK! no leaks nothing car has 62000 miles on it anyone help please i just bought the damn thing sunday

I think bad alternator. You were running on battery power til you had nothing left. Charge the battery and check the alternator first.

Dead battery? Have you tried jump starting it? When my battery finally went it showed no mercy. Still had enough juice to light the interior lights and prime the fuel pump (may be the "tink" you are hearing), but the starter wouldn't even try turning the motor over.

Tink is most likely the starter engaging the gear but not enouh power to turn.
Im going bad alternator. Charge the battery and check the voltage gauge while the engine is running. It should be between 13 and 14 volts. If not, Alternator.

my MM did this to me once. I was lucky that it started again. My guess would be is a dead battery and a bad alternator. Did you try to jump start it? If not you might want to, that way you can see if the engine seized, or turns over. If it turns over you should be able to tell by the sound if there's some compression left. If you can get it to start, check the charging system.
From what I've learned with mine, the MM is VERY picky when it comes to low voltage.

Hey good luck and make sure you reply to this thread once you figure it out now that suggestions have been made.
Oh yeah...:welcome: fellow Buckye!

Hey Tink....
Did the car 'grow up' in Ohio? If so there is something you need to check....
I would suspect, at this point in it's life, there is some corrosion on the starter and/or grounding system - wires/bolts. For ever, electrical problems have been a bite. You can spend all sorts of time and $$ replacing parts, and often times not know which component fixed your issue.
I would sart by charging the battery (with a charger). While it's charging, remove, clean, dialectric grease and re-install all the connectors. Such as from battery NEG to ground, POS to starter. Every time I change my oil, I check the starter connections. They get pretty corroded up in the North. (Southerners don't have this problem so much)
Be sure you disconnnect the battery wile charging and cleaning terminal connection on both ends. Use a wire brush and 220 sand paper to ensure clean contact points (Studs, nuts, bolts, connectors, everything that carries amps). Get some good dielectric grease and place a dab on all terminals. Hook everything back up as it was (make notes prior to removal as needed).
Once that is done and battery is fully charged, give things a try. Checkout the charging system via your gauge??? What's it reading? Should be 12-14 volts. If all that worked and you get a day or so use and it dies again, the alternator and/or battery is shot.
The salt on the roads up here really does damage to the sarter connection on these cars. It requires frequent maintenance if you drive like I do. Daily highway in the salt and muck....
Good luck.
