Further WOT Rev limiter problems.

Again today I'm crusing along at a little under 60 kph, about 36 mph and the road clear so I depress the gas pedal and didn't mean to but hit WOT, guess I pushed too hard.

So The car screams as it down shifts to first gear? hits the rev limiter and doesn't move. I just scream away and carry on at 60kph.

Any ideas why?

Transmission problem or stock Tune problem?

I'm going to upgrade my tune soon, but I just wonder if it could be something else.

How tall are they please?

Have you done gears yet? I haven't paid such close attention.

Tires are Winterforce M&S non studded.
Front 215 65 16
Rear 225 70 16

The revs/mile are within 6 of each other, so that is not the problem.

Is it possible the tires are spinning????

I thought that might be so this last time I checked but didn't see the TC light on the dash. I was kind of distressed, so I may have missed something but to me it just seemed that it clicked into the passing gear programme and wouldn't shift out.
