i am trying to find an old vehicle i owned previously but traded i have the VIN how can i go about finding where this vehicle is now and who owns it..any help is greatly appreciated

what state do you live in? where was is traded? people in that state could respond if you posted the vin that would narrow it down

While an OASIS report gives you the repair/warranty history, I don't know if it also gives an owner's name. Police/Sheriff can run a VIN, but in either case, I don't think a name should be provided to the public. Post up the VIN and details of the car as you know them....date of trade, dealer name/location, etc. and see if the new owner is a member here and makes themselves known.

Car fax will tell you what it can.

If it is old old rather than just one of your old cars then an Oasis will not help.

Best thing you can do is find out where it is emission tested and start your search there.

Other services, cost money, cen tell you much more information about a car and who ownes it owes money on it etc...

There is a company called Carproof.net they can tell you much more information, however I don't know if there are legally able to sell the information that they sell.

You may not wish to know that they exist, but they do and all of your private information is there for a minimal cost.
