what wire would we need to make this effective?

after motorhead350's loss of his blazer and cruztaker's idea of a killswitch, it gets me to thinking.....

Better safe than sorry, but not sure which wire to do it to?

help

If a thief wants your car bad enough, nothing will stop them.

Well, the hot wire to the starter relay would need to be tapped into...or the fuel pump hot wire, or the battery can be switched(not the best solution). Why not get an alarm with a starter disable?

killswitches are cheaper and easyer to wire...

im thinking a combo of starter relay and fuel pump.

Best thing is a wheel clamp.

Unless they tow it, they are not taking it.

Not far anyway.

Also if you have your wheel clamp on, it is unlikely to be clamped by someone else.

In my Mustang I tapped into the negative side of the fuel pump relay, that way if it ever grounded out it wouldn't be an issue.

I can't remember specifically, as the last time I did this was when I was still in my teens and had a Mazda RX7, but I just buried a heavy duty switch that was spliced in between one of the computer's start wires deep under the dash.

I figured no one would have enough time, nor the light to figure it out without being seen on the street.

Are you thinking the fuel pump inertia switch?

I believe you're thinking of the inertia fuel shutoff switch reset. It does not have a manual on/off function. There are 4 wires connected directly to the fuel pump assembly. The 2 heavier gauge wires in the middle control the pump and the 2 lighter gauge wires are for the float. I'd splice a switch into the pink fuel pump hotwire.
