Bunny,

If they're trying to log into ".com" they'll never see this. (Kinda like saying, "if you don't get this e-mail, let me know....";))

Why not just set the URL .COM to redirect to .NET???

Seems a whole lot easier than having a mirror site....

It actually does....but something's not working with vBulletin, it seems. I've had no complaints in using .Net.

Nuh huh......

When I type in www.mercurymarauder.com (http://www.mercurymarauder.com)..... it goes to WWW.MERCURYMARAUDER.COM (http://www.MERCURYMARAUDER.COM).

A redirector weould take you from www.mercurymarauder.com (http://www.mercurymarauder.com/) to WWW.MERCURYMARAUDER.NET (http://www.MERCURYMARAUDER.NET).

Server admin has it setup incorrectly. He needs REDIRECT not an alias. You can also set a redirect at the domain registrar level and bypass server admins sans clue.

That wasn't very nice....we're trying to work through this because members have been inconvenienced.....

Just pointing out that a permanent fix is available that doesn't require using one domain over the other. Take it as an insult if you wish. That wasn't the intention. Well at least not directed at you. :P

Pucky. That's a 'hidden' redirect. Send www.mercurymarauder.com to the index folder or same filename www.mercurymarauder.net points to.

No good deed goes unpunished; but this puppy's going to "Lounge", where it belongs. :D

BTW, stop wire brushing silver_2000. We're about fixing stuff, and not giving exact wording or explanations as to how it got done. He must feel like poor Dilbert, about now ....but beware of Mary's (aka Alice') fist of death. :revenge:

Also, I observe there are some very competent 'puter weenies 'round here; but it would make some folks feel better if helpful advice could be offered in a tactful fashion, rather than taking shots.

In other words, be nice to Mary 'cause she don't need no *****.

Actually, I and I believe others were sticking up for Mary to help her deal with server Admin.

A few of our BS detectors went off due to short explanation. We didn't know it was short and we were helping protect our Happy Bunny from BS. We also don't know admin or his personality. How do we know she's not been fed the line? So, it's instant 'stick up for Mary' mode.

I understand the previous post is in the same vein. Do not, however, assume folks' intentions. That mistake has been made too may times in this forum.

We may not be the most tactful bunch, but we know how to get stuff done, protect our own, and help others get stuff done....

No offense to admin. Thanx for helping us out.....

At your service, Mary...
