View Full Version : The PIMPMOBILE

It's the damnedest thing you ever saw. When we were looking, it was on Cooper motors website and a positively hideous photo, but the miles were low, and so was the price. I called 'em and asked if they had anything else with the same low miles and condition as that ugly pimpmobile on their website. It's a Signature Luxury Designer series in Dark Cherry and the guy pimped it out with Chrome wheels with Vogue whitewall yellow stripe Tyres @ $250 a pop, plus he added chrome sides up to halfway on the doors, and chrome fender accents. To top it off, they sent up to a custom shop in Mechanicsburg, PA and had one of those White Landau roof things with the lighted chrome trim rail over the whole works. It wouldn't have surprised me to have seen a continental kit on the back.
Anyway, we went up to see it, and Barb liked it from the get-go, while I swallowed, hard a couple of times, and observed that it looked better in the flesh than the photo on their website. They had it since December, and kept dropping the price, to the point where a couple of the guys at the dealership were getting ready to buy it, 1st of March, when it was gonna get dropped one last time before being sent to auction.
The guy had over 55K in it, and in just under two years put just over 9,000 miles on his baby. Another surprise was the HID headlights, which the dealer didn't know about, also there's the trunk organizer. Anyway, it lives here, now, in all it's pimpness. It was a pleasure to drive to Ohio, last weekend. There's more photos im my gallery, if you want to look.
Thanks to Brian for running the OASIS report and MarauderMark for the CARFAX report.

You sold our Marauder for that.....:puke:
Boo.
Had you been taking your meds according to the proper schedule, there would be a Marauder in the photo.
Boo old man

Ain't nuthin' wrong with that Lincoln.
I think the "Landau" roof looks good.
Not too sure about the hood ornament though. Nice find, at a good price, for an exceptional car.

Mike,
Now you MUST buy a Gold Grille!.......
Not for the front of the car....for your front teeth!....:D.............."PIMPIN AIN'T EASY!!!"
Another positive about your new ride is that you can check to see if your shoes need shining every time you get in the car!!....
BTW: There is NO WAY it is going to fit in your garage.:shake:

"In for a penny, in for a pound".
That's a good start! At this point I'd just keep going and finish the job. I suggest getting some fender skirts, lake pipes, fuzzy dice, a continental kit, spoke wheels (with wide whites), and about 3 miles of pin striping. Do it up like a 50's custom. A two tone white and turquoise paint job would look cool too.
BTW, I think JC Whitney still sells those pipe organ style speakers. :D

If they told you it's a " Designer Serie's" Town car they Lied to you. All Designer Serie's Town Car's come with Fog Light's from Factory and a Special Designer Leather style Seats. They also have Electric Open and close trunk's along with a few other special items. I know this because I have a 2007 Designer Serie's Town Car Black on Black. It looks like a nice car and they do have a great ride. The Best of Luck with it.
hope you enjoy your new ride.

If they told you it's a " Designer Serie's" Town car they Lied to you. The Best of Luck with it.
It says Designer Series on the badging,
has Chrome B-pillar trim and chrome door handles,
17"18spoke chrome-aluminum wheels
Two Tone door trim panels
Provence leather trimmed seats with shirred inserts and contrasting piping
Adjustable rear-seat head restraints
Brushed Aluminum scuff plates.Plus it says it's a Designer Series on the Carfax report and bill of sale. I have the '06 sales brochure and can't find anything about fog lights anywhere. It does have DRL which I'm not crazy about, but with the HID lights, perhaps fog lights are redundant. Also the front fascia on the '06 has no place to put them. It's a Designer series.
BTW, the hood emblem is standard Lincoln, it's the Hemlocks in the background that make it look strange(r). Also, those are standard wheels as part of the Designer PKG in '06.
Barb and I have enjoyed the wonderful comments, and as to why we have this instead of another Marauder? We went 893 miles to Greenfield, OH and back, last weekend, in a serenely quiet, comfortable automobile. We got just under 25MPG on regular gas, and once I have the Mobil-1 in it and the engine is broken in, can expect nearly 30 MPG on the highway. After 7hrs of seat time, with the exhaust drone and stiff ride, the Marauder beat us to death. We expect to be making monthly trips to Ohio, ....you do the math.
BTW, we already have a mini-fleet of garage queens, and another Marauder would just join the collection. We needed a driver, and this is the best we could do.
I gotta admit, though, it sure is different. :beatnik:

What do you expect after a custom twin-screw install? :)
I can't get into the car, but I'm glad you are enjoying it. That's the first priority. My friends diss the "boat" sometimes, but they never complain when I'm driving them around.

First off, Good Luck with the car  It only has to make you and your wife happy :)
If you know someone in a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury service dept they should be able to disable the DRL's thru the computer.
I had DRL's enabled in my dads '06 GM, and sisters '05 Escape. NO PARTS required.

How about that? Yep, they added fog lights in '07, then took 'em away in '08.
Dare we use the term DECONTENTED?
Soon this is gonna become the authoritative .net for the esoteric differences in Town Cars. (Oh, BTW ours also has the way cool automatic 'lectric trunk opening/closing thingey. :D

The chrome trim halfway up the doors is horrible--can you get that removed without fubar'ing the paint?
Other than that, I think it looks pretty nice. the vogues do set off the landau roof, though they look a tad busy with that wheel design.
Commence to pimpin'. :)

Mike first nice it is a very nice car! No if ands or buts!
The chrome of the side is the only drawback I see. I am sure your not happy with it.
Being that it is a "used" car you have no options other than walk away.
I 100% agree with the ride issue vs. the marauder. (I like the merc's ride)
Best of luck and many happy and SAFE mile
