i have a trans filter kit w/gasket for my 91 blazer. i was going to do it last year but didnt get to it. The gasket is dusty from sitting out in the shop for a year, is there any way to clean it to get the dust off that woulnt make the gasket unable to do its job?

i was thinking armor all to clean and soften it, but then i though maybe it would be oily/slick and the trans fuild would leak, then i thought windex, and i wasnt sure. any ideas?

its a brand new gasket but its just a little dusty.

You said it was dusty. Is it oily or dusty? I wouldn't use windex because it has ammonia. Maybe a little brake clean on a shop rag?
