Thanks for sharing this Chris. I had not seen this before. I've never been a Ranchero or El Camino fan but they have their own utility. But it looks cool.

I'm glad to see they are comitting to build this.
I'll be looking at them closely when they are released. Not a huge fan of the styling, but new rwd V8s are few and far between.

I had a Firebird 94 to 04.

It was a great looking car but the ergonomics just were not right.

The seats didn't go far enough back, the back seats were for little people only, with some one small up front.

Head room was great with the t roof. Why oh why are there no more t roofs?

Seat was bad and had no padding to it.

But sitting in the cockpit was magical with the red glow from all the lights and bright red coloured body panels.

The 3 foot dash made getting wayward parkade tickets an exercise in big fingers little space.

Great car I would consider buying another, even with its problems, again.

I was forever a Ford guy, I liked the Subaru's much later but the amazing 94 Firebird made me a Pontiac guy too.

Too bad there are not more Firebirds.

No the Sunbird is not like a Firebird, not even close.

As for this G8 Ute, I think I will pickup a Lightning instead.

It's not, but if you're going to use the same design from the Aussie's, at least be orginal and give it a GM front end. And as for the GTO, I do like it, but I absolutely hate the front end of that car. I agree with you, I give them credit for bringing it over, I wish Ford would incorporate some of their FPV vehicles over here.

I wouldn't jump ship to the G8 ST but maybe the G8 car itself. From the reviews I have read up on it, it's really starting to pan out as a all around good car, plus 361hp isn't such a bad thing either lol. I'd have to wait and see what kind of aftermarket following it has maybe like a rear mount TT setup :P
