Recently a thread was closed that reminded me of why I don't participate much in any online forum. I don't blame Mike for shutting it down, if the information had been presented in good faith, it had tremendous potential to educate.
I'm not qualified to question or critique the graph that was presented and I don't believe it is representative of the results you would get with a basic out of the box T-Kit. So I will only comment on what I do know.
I own an out of the box basic T-Kit with over 20,000 miles and about 50 runs down the 1/4 mile, it produces about 400 rwhp (measured at Dennis Reinhart's excellent facility in Orange park, Fl.) the gas mileage remains about the same as before S/C'ing 17/23 mpg.
Florida has the largest concentration of T-kits anywhere in the Nation and they run quite well out the box and are not ventilating their blocks. Excellent manners in everyday driving and tons of low end torque from a dead start. This is what Jerry promised and it is exactly what he delivered.
Lidio knows how to make cars go fast and knows when you go to the edge you will "spill the oil". He was NOT commisioned to tune the T-Kit for "balls out maximum speed" his job with the tools available at the genesis of the T-Kit project was plenty of power with a very healthy concern for "block safety" This has never been a secret.
Anyone that bought the T-Kit and wanted more power knew how to go about it. Here in Florida we are very fortunate to have Scott Beir. who has done an excellent job CUSTOM tuning local T-Kits and also other types of S/C'ers including the record setting* Procharger owned by my good friend Tom (TJA).
The T-Kit from the very beginning has been presented exactly for what it is: A way to make a stock Marauder anywhere in the country very fast and very reliable, it was never advertised as being delivered at the raw edge of performance (that is where you spill the oil)
Today we know that there are better options for IAT placement and using fuel tables that don't just simply default to a rich condition in order to PROTECT the block by sacrificing power. The point is and always was Jerry and Lidio wanted to deliver to their customers "safe, reliable power" and they succeeded admirably.
The enmities that have develop over the years remain, and continue to interfere with an honest and constructive exchange of information that could benefit us all. Please don't waste my time or yours trying to convince me it was all "innocent", it wasn't.
I don't write much anymore but I felt compelled to write this because it bothered me to see another thread go down the tubes. If my thread illicits another keyboard brawl Mike feel free to close it, no hard feelings on my part. Thanks, Javier.
