I think it's time to make this official. I've been in contact with St. Thomas assembly plant and it doesn't look like the tour will happen this year ones again. As you may be aware, the tours have been canceled last year because the Town Car production was being moved to STAP. At this point, I have not received any new information regarding the tours.

So based off that, there will be a full day track meet held at St. Thomas dragway on Saturday, June 28. This is the day they booked for us.

Link to St. Thomas dragway for maps and directions, St. Thomas dragway (http://www.stthomasdragway.com/index.php).

Same fees as last year- $30 per car & driver if you want to race, $10 for crew or spectator.

Gates open at 10, time trials at 11, eliminations at 2, finish at 4. We were welcomed to stay for Saturday night Run What Ya Brung as track guests as well at no extra charge.

They allow BBQing at the dragway so if someone has a BBQ stove, we could have lunch there as well.

If you don't want to race, you can still come and watch. Everyone who went the previous years had a good time.

If anybody wants to meet up somewhere and convoy down there, I am game.

Am I the only MM showing up?

I posted this on OQCVO but for those who don't visit, here it is again.

For those coming from Western, Southern and Northern Ontario and NY and want to join the convoy to the track...

It seems like the Garden Ave. exit on 403 is a good place to meet for those coming from the West, North and South. I pin pointed the location on the map, it looks like a gas station/truck stop.

Approximate driving time from there to the track is 1 hour and 30 minutes. That means that if we want to be at the track at 10 we will have to leave the truck stop around 8:30-8:45. I think we can have an hour window from 8 - 9 am for everyone to show up then we can hit the road.

I will be bringing my laptop with me for GPS and perhaps data logging on the track so we shouldn't get lot on the way there. cough*Jon*cough.

I would also recommend bringing along a FRS radio aka walkie talkie for communication between cars. I have a set so if someone doesn't have one, they can use one of mine. These can be bought in any electronics store for pretty cheap nowadays. I think last year we used Channel 3.

Anyone else have suggestions?

Any of you other Marauder owners thinking of showing up? Looks like a fun time.

I'm still thinking about it... If I can get some home renovations done (recently purchased the home), then my weekends will open up, and I'll be there!

The time is approaching rather quickly. About 2 weeks left until this event. Would like everyone to make a reply to confirm if you are still planning to attend the meet and/or convoy from Burlington.

I'm still going. Hey QWK SVT, sounds like someone is saving some $$ having the Friday wedding.

Lol. You could join the convoy if you manage to get out of bed early enough. Those of us from Durham will be coming through Toronto at about quarter to eight. Two white CVPIs, so far, shouldn't be hard to find us on the highway. The route map is laid out on OQCVO if you are interested. And for MADRODER, you could join Serge for the convoy if that was ok with him, as he's comin from Fort Erie and would be driving by you anyway. We will all be meeting in Brantford for a big convoy of Panthers! Except for those who are coming up early or coming from the south, that is.

Sure, I wouldn't mind a mini convoy. I think Brandon and Nick might be joining me in the morning as well.

Actually, it's an Indian (India, not Native) wedding, and there are several days of ceremonies/activities... Luckily, we don't have to go to all the festivities. But, yes, you can really save some dough with a Friday wedding - I found out the hard way... I kid, and my wife doesn't read the boards, anyway ;)

The air ride in the MM decided to crap out on me, yesterday... I had to drive along Front St (from Yonge to get onto the DVP), riding on the bump stops - I can still feel the bumps rattling through my bones! I'm trying to figure out what the issue is, but for now the Marauder is sitting in the garage, and Mercedes (wife) is driving me to the Go Train, since I really don't feel like getting caught in a shower with the Lightning.

If I can get the MM running, I will be joining, but it's looking 50/50, at best :alone:

We may end up getting rained on...at least from the forecast that they have up there now. It says showers all day but what else is new. It's been raining all June. Maybe it will pass over quicker and we will actually get to race.

Is there a rain date?

Serge

No rain date has been set as of yet.

They changed the forecast again to chance of showers so it may not rain at all.

We will continue as planned. If it does rain, we will just do the meet and the convoy then probably lunch.

Had a good time, despite the rain. Managed a 14.9 @ 93mph which wasn't too bad considering the humidity and wheelspin.
