Is Your Marauder's Persona Male or Female? [Archive]

I think of my Marauder as all male but notice that most of you refer to yours as female. Is there a proper gender reference for cars like there is for boats? I had a "female" car named Blueberry (no not a MM) and 2 "male" cars, Wolfie and Al. Haven't had a name stick to my '04 SilverBirch yet. Mr. Man wants to call him Vlad (aka Vlad The Impaler). Too bloody for me! Curious what you guys call your cars.:burnout:

Totally a woman. Spend money on her, she gets moody, I bathe her and keep her clean, let nobody drive her, keep her warm, and whenever she needs something, i run to get it.

I kind of jokingly named mine "Reba" one day to my wife, and I guess it stuck. She thought it was appropriate, because it's annoyingly loud and a shade of red. Not that Reba is loud, but her laugh can be a little annoying at times. I suppose it was either Reba, or Lucy. :D

Lucy....Reminds me of the "car wash: scene from Cool Hand Luke:

Our Girls names are Blackbird and Phoebe (SB). The mascot for each is a stuffed bird - Blackbird (below) and a Black-Capped Chickadee, whose call is "phoee -bee." :D

The Chickadee has that call too....very talented! LOL..... Got the Blackbird at a local bird food store in Falmouth, MA. Phoebe found her way into our hands while we were at MV5 at the little general store we stopped at on the way to Luray Caverns in the Shenandoah Valley.

I'm pretty sure mine is male. It drives with a chip on its shoulder like its always mad. He forces me to drive aggressively as well. Can't explain it. I'm not an aggressive driver by nature.

My MGM is "the Mercury". My MM is "the Marauder".

I am spending quite a lot of money and devote a lot of time to both of them. I am buying them gifts. So far, my girlfriend/wife is scared by the MM and does not enjoy driving the MGM. Also, I feel very good when being inside of them, just sitting or driving. :D

So I would strongly believe that they are female !

Funny that this thread came up. I named my SB "Ashley" (as in ash grey), but it really hasn't felt right. Now, I'm afraid my MM is having a gender identity crisis.....the VERY FIRST name I thought of calling my car once the Trilogy is installed next month is....Carbano!

She was "The Black Pearl" or "Pearl" for short. I thought the car was a boat and vessels of the sea are machines of beauty, grace and speed. All Marauders are all female in character.
The first "Pirates" movie was the first movie date I ever took the now wife to and I've always loved Janis Joplin so it seemed like perfect.
I really miss her and don't really have names for anything that's in the stable now...The Focus is "The Focus"...The German convertible is "The Mercedes"...I sometimes call my Mini Cooper "Chucky" because it's the color of dried blood (Child's Play) and Cooper folks name cars. The wife's Mazda is "The Mazda" and the daughter's Escape is "The Escape".

Somebody here a long time ago (several years) called his Marauder "Oprah" and I thought that was the best name I ever heard...It stuck in my mind... so my wife and I refer to my Marauder as "Oprah"...She's big, black and has tons of attitude...:cool:
