The oil pressure guage pod by no longer lights up. Dealer said that Ford no longer supplies the part. The car is still under extended warranty and seems as if this should be fixed under warranty. If bulb itself is bad, bulb is not covered under warranty.
Is guage still available through Ford?
Update: Thanks for info on replacing bulb. However, dealer on March 31, 2008 says that guage is available and will be replaced under extended warranty.

Probably, but if it doesn't light up, the guage has little to do with it. It's just a bulb, with power coming from when the lights are on.

My buld burnt out too...I had no problem replacing it....Really easy to do...When you take the console out, Put the shifter into 2nd gear, so you have room to take the console out....When you have it out, disconnect the connections and then the two bolts...The rest you can figure out, its a no brainer....

You do not have to take the console out to replace the gauge pod bulbs. Just pull on the side "wings" of the pod, down and towards you.
The correct replacement bulb is a # 161, but a 158 or 194 will also work.
While you're in there, you should seriously consider replacing the fake non-funtional OEM gauge with the real working one from AutoMeter...kit #4327 includes the gauge unit and the required new sender..about $60 from Dennis, Lidio, or Wes...

What RF Overlord said ^^^^^^^^^^The one that comes with the car is nothing more than an idiot light with numbers.

No wonder Ford is losing money...it's a 10 cent bulb not a 50 dollar guage!
But hey whatever they wanna do!

Not a $50 guage. Ford's price is-----$289----plus labor. However, the warranty will cover. However, it does make you wonder who arrives at the price and the customer's pain of having to pay out of pocket.

As long as you're aware that they're replacing a fake non-functional gauge with the same thing.
Not a $50 guage. Ford's price is-----$289----plus labor. What a ripoff...the complete set...new gauge and sender...retail...$60 from Dennis.... :shake: :shake:
Ordered 2 gauges from wes last week oil and boost for $135.00 shipped.

Avoid the 194, I have heard about them getting too warm inside the housing and browning the light housing.
168 would do just fine!
