So I am looking at possibly picking up a driveshaft, gears, and a tune.

Any thoughts on what I would be putting down in terms of numbers and drivability gains?

I have kooks already.

Not sure why I posted this here - but whatever:bandit:

The driveshaft will not net any gains, per say, besides safety. The gears will help with takeoff, and reduce top end speed. The tune will really wake up the car. It will make a few adjustments to your cars computer like the shift points. Make sure you get a tune for the 4.10 gears.

Sweet maybe I can skip on the driveshaft for now

I have 4.10 and did not replace the drive shaft. A.O.K. so far....

Do you already have a cold air intake

Nah - is it worth the money? In my experience cold air intakes just like crap like dirt and stuff into the pourous filter and into the TB and such.

I have never seen a clean CAI setup - the filter is always dirt caked or char black with nasty stuff.

I would probably do a K&N drop in. Unless someone can show me otherwise with a CAI

See I had my cai installed the same time I put the 410's in so I don't really don't know how much I gained but it sounds awesome

I've never seen a Marauder CAI in such a condition.

Where does the CAI get located to? Most CAI's for imports get too low to the ground and suck up all the road waste.

My WS6 has ram air so I love that the best.

I'm with Rich, what CAI's are you looking at? The ricer ones where they stick them right on the freakin' road? In that case yes, they'll be filthy. The CAI made a little bit of a SOTP difference. Bit peppier, better throttle response, and great sound.

I'm not sure of what numbers you should expect, but in my experiance the biggest gains were in the cars throttle response and shift points

Yea I just looked at the JLT intake - nothing too crazy just looks like a filter and a heat sheild. I would consider that a Ram air as its on the same level as the engine and the air induction is coming from behind the head light.

Cold air is something lower away from the engine, either by bumper support or fog lights.

Maybe I just get the terms screwy.

I can prolly fabricate something on my own. Thats what I did with my WRX and it work fine.

At least the JLT is 100 bucks - K&N is nuts for 300+

You can find a better deal than that on a k&n fipk I think I paid 200 bucks for mine online somewhere

Yeah - in the end it will more then likely be a drop in for me. In my experience after market intakes and oem intakes with drop in filters are pretty much the same in terms of performance - the difference is just looks and sounds.

I have a drop in panel filter if you're interested. I run a JLT the panel filter is in storage with my stock intake.

There is good advice regarding the mods above, I don't have too much else to add. I will say if you do choose to get the driveshaft you should also get a Metco driveshaft safety loop. I would consider adding one even with a stock DS, but it's a no brainer while the DS is being replaced, so if you do end up doing the DS pick on of those up to have put on while things are apart. Cheap mod too, and will secure the DS if it were to ever break.

Personally, I used the K&N Panel w/ the Stock Airbox minus the Elephant Trunk....

:burn:Why don't you find someone in your area that has one and take a looksee. The Marauder confiruration is pretty good by itself. But you can't beat the sound that the CAI's make when you stomp on the gas!!!!!!:burn::burn:

LOL Sean

I bought it and with my buzzard's luck it will always be!

My mechanic/friend is driving it for the weak to make sure the mileage gets put on safely. I will be trying to get a tune for it this weekend.

Do you drive around with one headlight often? Does it even add anything considering the drag increase?

I was swapping my HID's out for the regular bulbs and noticed the hole behind the headlight lined up with the intake so I took a picture and put the headlight back. It was more of a joke but some guys go to the strip and drag race like that for the extra air getting rammed down the throat of the mighty beast.

I don't know why but I though of this just now!
