How is it Edmunds got to keep the pic up, but friggin TCCOA is like getting shut down for posting it? It looks great I think. All I can say, if they want to sell a lot, make an SHO version and get a lot of consumer's back.

At least it looks "cooler" then the current design. I'd still take it if they put some good HorsePower in it!

Ford will put the 415hp TwinForce Engine in the Taurus. It is unclear at this point, whether Ford will revive the SHO nameplate for this application

After owning 5 SHO's I would feel obligated to buy a new one if they gave it the SHO name plate.

I believe that SHOdude on this site has a major roll in that website. Yea I check in quite a bit to see what the new word is...

With parts getting hard to find again I might be stepping away from them. I know I will miss my SHO's but the Marauder was my replacement Grandpa Car;)

It actually might be the right wheel drive. Ford Australia just rolled out the new Falcon. It looks alot like the one in the photo. We can always hope anyway.

All you have to do it take a picture of the picture and you can post it all you want.

As for the Taurus the new one, the 08 or 09 is a 6.5 second 0-60 280 bhp 3.5L V6.

A turbo added to that will be just fun.

This will likely be the same engine that they port into the Flex.

No V8. No RWD...

FORD, please ! Give us soon a new Interceptor based upon the concept car that everybody saw ! Nobody refrains you to stop fighting Camry's and Accord's. But this should not prevent you to stay FORD ! To stay American ! And to stay proud of it !

You guys are looking at this all the wrong way. And no, the Taurus won't be the first FoMoCo car to get the Ecoboost TT V6, the Lincoln MKX or whatever it's called will be the first. It may be FWD, but there's an AWD option and I'm sure none of us would hesitate for that. Look at the new Nissan GTR, TT V6, AWD, 6 spd. This thing is already a beast, and it's not for sale until this Summer. It's going to stomp on every American car out there.

That is the problem, they all look alike.

Atleast with Subaru they would bring out new looking things once in a while. (too bad they were all so ugly)

The new Lincoln MKS will be the first car here with the twinforce. There is a Flex test unit in Dearborn with one, and boy is that engine compartment cramped.

I'd prefer a SHO Fusion since I believe it looks better than the Taurus and the Fusion is representing Ford in nascar.

Raudermaster
04-16-2008, 08:34 AM
See, I said the same thing, "Make an SHO version of the Fusion." That was until I saw the new Taurus, and what's in store for it. I hope they just do the SHO to the Taurus like they should.

I am going to keep my fingers crossed....I dont know if it could be a SHO with out Yamaha backing it:confused: But after the fiasco with the V-8 cams:mad2: it would probably be a good choice to keep it all in house this time.

Yea, don't plan on Yamaha massaging this motor.

There will be a SHO and it will be powered by a dual turbo 3.5L GTDI v6. I would expect at least 300 hp.

I know a guy who works on the 2010 Taurus so I know for sure it's coming. There is a front drive and an all wheel drive version of the car.

For more info, go online to Car & Driver.com They have info from the Detroit show that indicates a possible SHO reincarnate using the EcoBoost twin-turbo rated at 340-350hp, paddle-shifter (which WILL be on the 2010 Taurus Limited - the shifter, not the engine), lowered suspension and BIG wheels. Keep in mind that the current Taurus with the 3.5 already puts out more power than ANY SHO from the past at 263hp (the 99's V8 only had 240). I drove one at Mosport last year, and it blew my socks off how good it handled itself for a big, front-drive car. This new SHO, if it does make it, will be a pretty amazing piece of machinery, IMHO.

I credit FoMoCo for making due with a slim budget but be advised the "new" Taurus is basically the same car as the 500/Montego/Taurus/Sable/MXX(or whatever Lincoln calls their cars now)/VolvoS60/80 that they have been making since 2004. Its a good car (I own a Montego myself) but its still a "driving appliance". Ford has changed the body style and added lots of doodads that hopefully will get people into the showrooms. I hope it sells well enough to keep them out of bankruptcy.

i LOve the front.

I dont like the Interceptor concept car back end on it though. Too blocky for sucha sleek front and the small blip of a body line on the rear quarter doesnt fit right with me either. I think it will probably loook good in black but ill wait to go test drive one.

The SHO is coming back. I haven't personally seen it, but there has been one spotted at the Chicago Assembly Plant where the current Taurus is being produced. A co-worker has seen it, and puts the MKS to shame. Not saying the MKS is a bad car, but this SHO will rock when it comes out:burnout:. I don't know the exact date for it, but JOB 1 for the 2010 Taurus is April 30. At my plant we are putting the finshing touches on all the new parts we will be making for Chicago Assembly, and trust me this new one puts the old one to shame. I can't wait for the possible forseen overtime to come. Boy could I use it now. Wish us all luck.
