Signal power is supplied by a Alpine PDX-4.100 4x100w digital amp in the trunk (prior upgrade)

These things are awesome! Clear, punchy bass, and LOUD. The highs don't grate on my ears at loud volume like the old ones did. They are light years beyond the Infinity Kappas they replaced.

Looks great, and I'm sure it sounds spectacular.
(I had some Dynamat Xtreme installed in the front doors a few weeks ago. Makes my very modest almost-all-stock sound system sound noticeably better---mid-bass is significantly more pronounced, separation is deeper and vocals are no longer drowned out by road-noise!)

Just got back from running errands cranked up 3/4. I think I need a harmonic dampener for my rear view mirror. :D

Did you Dynamat the entire door surface or just in the area surronding the speakers?
Did you use a heat gun to get the Dynamat to conform to all the door's surfaces?

WOW!!
I've always liked Infinity speakers when I've installed them in several of my previous vehicles...these Focal speakers must be awesome!
I haven't heard of them until now...but I really like the front component system.

I didn't do the install. I know my limits. :D

Yes on dynamat the whole door with shaping. As for the difference, it is not subtle. It is immediately apparent from the first time you listen to them. Separation and instrument detail is way better. Almost as good as my home system. I'm hearing detail I never noticed before. Remember I have an upgraded head unit too. The Z2 exposes the Kappas deficiencies.
