I bought the car with a Blown Head Gasket! I paid $400 for the Beater.

Best investment to date.... 28MPG!

I hear ya, they were notorious for head gaskets. Felpro makes a nice replacement for it that usually will outlast the car. The quad 4 and the Northstar were both Olds projects slated for the Aurora and other Olds projects. The Northy was hijacked by Cadillac when they saw the dyno numbers and the Quad 4 went into a few different cars and were pure torture until they made a gasket that could tame it. Hopefully you have the twin cam, makes lots of HP for its size..

I missed my 88 Quad4 GA. I remember the first time I raced it all I had was a K&N custom intake filter and cat back exhaust. I destroyed this kid in a Honda Accord with a chip, intake, full exhaust and a bunch of other stuff lol.
