Tonight i took on Blackend300a, and this time he won.


I missed every single shift except launching off the line. From a dig we were nose to nose up until the top of 1st (40 mph). This was definatly a battle of who can outdrive who. Shifting into 2nd, the mustang COMPLETELY LOCKED ME OUT!!! IT took OVER 2 SECONDS to recover from the shift. Once into 2nd, 3rd DID THE SAME THING TO ME!!!!:bs::bs:

After seeing the smile on his face and taking his win, i said with conviction "THE CAR LOCKED ME OUT!!! I CANT BELIEVE IT!!! COMPLETE BS!!!" Of course, he was sitting there thinking "get someone who can drive that beast"


Well - I did just that. I let Paul later on in the night take my car for a ride so he could find out if it was driver error, or mechanical :bs:. Turns out 2nd and 3rd locked him out too and GRINDED LIKE A MOFO!!!!

Time to take it in to get the shifter looked at, as well as maybe a synchro job done to the effected gears.

He is full bolt on, minus headers. And his car ran consistant 14.0's in 90+degree heat with high humidity. VS, my car which SHOULD BE a mid 13-sec car. In reality, its a very dead heat. :cool:

Im shocked that this thread came up!! :D
We figured since Lenny is putting down 280 rwhp and Im putting down 293, plus the weight to power ratio and 5spd vs auto with a convertor. We figured this would be a good race. (Who am I kidding, we just wanted to race! ;))
Traction was limited for both of us, but the Marauder prevailed over the pony car! The stang does have some shifter issues, either the linkage has slop or something internal is binding.
Im sure Lenny will get his car back in shape and I know there will be a rematch only next time will be with video proof!

Oh BTW, it should read Marauder 2, Mustang 0. We went for it twice and it wasnt pretty for the stang either time.

How many miles are on your car that the trans is hosed already? With internally rail shifted transmissions, there really is no shifter "adjustment" to speak of.
