Most the area here is in a mild state of chaos right now. Predicted thunderstorms for this afternoon went straight into Tornado Warnings as several tornados have hit the area. Worst hit so for is the Suffolk area. There is cars upside down and buildings tore down and debris everywhere. I just heard the news report debris in the air in Virginia Beach area and another warning was just issued north of me. Fortunaetly, most the MM owners I know here, are in the Hampton and Newport News areas we have practically been missed.

Some pretty serious funnel clouds in those pics. Glad to hear you are OK. My nephew lives in Chesapeake, VA not far away. Also, my son's In-Laws live in VA Beach near Oceana NAS. Hope all is fine with them too.

I have lived in this area most of my life and tornadoes in this region were pretty rare up until 10 years ago. Now, the twisters seem to pop up several times each year. A week ago at the CAM meet on 20 April 2008, a tornado went through Waldorf, MD about 15 miles north of the meeting place. Another went just north of Washington, DC. Now another hits southern VA. :( This stuff used to be restricted to the mid-West and south-East --- now it is moving farther up the coast.
