So i finally cleaned out my shed today and came across an old 1980 Z28 air induction scoop from my old mullet days (god i miss them) that actually still has a functioning actuator. This thing has been in storage and has also moved to three houses in ten years i think it is time that i do something with it. I'm trying to provide a link to photobucket but i've never done it before so be patient. Keep in mind that it is sitting high because of the mounting bolts and that it will only be about 2" tall when finished and it will also be blended in with fiberglass. I can't believe that it fits right down to a 1/4" in length. Also i will be using a junkyard hood in case i don't like it. So this experiment may soon be for sale.

If its painted black, it may actually look pretty cool. Nice job!

If you mount your Boost guage etc... on the inside of the cowling it would be a great place to look and see what is going on.

Actually i'm not supercharged yet but your right it would look pretty cool except the cowl opens in the back under wot electronically. I also like how it follows the original hood lines and it would be black.

It's got a nice flow to it, just go black on induction...different!

Try just spray painting it black to see how it flows...but I think it will work!:burnout:

Ain't nuttin' wrong with that. I like the black and white in cotrast with the black car. White could be replaced with Silver Birch to make it more Marauder.....

Good idea, run with it.

Won't the environmentalists be pleased, you're recycling...

I would bolt it on and see what it looks like. If may look fine not molded. The lines on it seem to match up. You may have a good idea on this!

Not my tastes.

I like nice clean stock look.

something little here and there wouldn't be a huge issue with me....

but you are going to perm. alter your hood with an OLD GM PART...

WHAT!?

I think it might have potentialI agree...I'd have to see it painted all black (or at least not the way it is now) and actually mounted, but I can't say I hate it...

It really is amazing that it matches up so well...

Give it a try...you can always fill in the holes on the hood if you don't like it.

Once again it will be done to a junkyard hood, i would never deface an original hood when i can save one from the crusher for 50 bucks, besides this is just another cheap idea from one of us poor guys trying to personalise. It might not even be my taste, won't know untill i see it done but i think that i'm gonna like it. I have'nt seen one i like yet because i'm also one of those clean, original guys.

I'm probably going out tomorrow to get a hood and paint so i can start on it. I've been off a few days because of slow work in the construction world, but watching my three kids will slow me down a little.
