Im thinking of doing this so i can do the ventshades that go on outside the window.

If i dont do this then the ventshades look bad because you still see all the chrome around the windows.

I dont much care for the in-channel ventshades so its either this, or no ventshades.

If you post up pics of you blacked out window chrome it will give me a better idea of what im looking to do. Any can you specify if you painted or taped over the chrome in you pics.

Thanks

ok, how well would ventshades hold onto the tape? how well will the tape hold with a ventshade on it?

What if you leave the tape off where the ventshade is gonna be?

I put my ventshades on first then put the black vinyl on the chrome in the gaps between the shades. I left the bottom chromed and it looks pretty good that way.

I am kind of interested in this, but for my CVPI. Next weekend we are actually doing the B-pillars with some 3M vinyl that I have been sitting on for some time now. Was originally going to do it on the Marauder, but going to use the CVPI as a guinee pig instead. Once that is done might have to do the chrome to match and see how that all looks. Definitely not cheap for all of that tape, huh?

FWIW. If you need tape, check out Trimbrite T-9005. It's seems to be getting harder to find. ~$3.99 for 20' roll x 1-3/8". Amazon had some listed. Had installed for at least two years, still holding up great.
