Monday morning Calvin & I headed off to Snow Shoe Camp for a day of Turkey hunting, and to mow the grass; now at nearly 10". It's raining and the roads are flooding, but the real surprise was on PA 26, South of Pine Grove Mills, just outside of State College. It's May 12th and there's 2" of snow on the mountain! :eek:
Next morning I leave camp at 4:30 for the turkeys in Farmer John's fields at Kylertown, and there's more snow on I-80 at Moshannon. By noon it's 65 degrees and bright sunshine, allowing me to go grass whacking. Lucky me, 'cause another week for that stuff to grow and it would have required a sickle bar to take it down.
