Apologies if already posted, but saw this this morning on MSN:

Pretty cool car. EVERYBODY has 20" rims now! I guess we're the forerunners of the new rage 'cuz I remember when our 18 inchers were a big deal...

Things I like: fuel door, wheels, hood (a lot), cool side mirrors, the black one (keep the orange; the silver is nice), neat tranny, 425 HP.

Things I don't: the interior design is plain uninspired, and just plain, the steering wheel, 2 doors, grill, retro round headlights.

Note the article makes a big deal that the HP per liter is 69.8. My math shows ours stock is 69.13!

Honestly, I love my MM. My biggest regret is that I live somewhere where I can't easily S/C it or get a decent exhaust. I would love to blow one of these away, and for a lot less $. Even with full CA sales tax, license, and charges, plus over $7K worth of mods, my '03 is just barely at $34K.

If this and the big Charger had been available in '04 when I bought, I don't know what I would have got at the time; but I loved the look of my MM the first time I spotted it and won't be getting rid of it ever.

(Of course, that's no reason not to have two cars! :D)

Considering there are already 426 stroker kits, blowers and turbos available for the Hemis, along with full tuning support, All it will take is a big wallet to Blow US away, regardless of our mods. :bigcry:

Since we have been looking at new cars, I called a local Dodge dealer to ask if they would have any convertible Challengers. He said they were allotted 9 for this year, but no convertibles. List price in SRT8 will be around 42K, and they expect to sell the first ones for about 20K higher than list.
I think I'll wait a few years before I look seriously at one!

Not completely true Zack. Last time I checked they had problems with changing the rear ends and getting the trannys to work with mods properly... and this was with other SRT8 models from about a year ago. Maybe someone figured something out, but there isn't a lot out as suppose to our Fords and Chevys. If someone sees a market for these things I guess more aftermarket will be made, but right now most SRT8s are no longer being produced and the Challenger is limited production as of now.

We'll see what happens, but I bet we can have a few of us that can shut them down, just not stock for stock.

I feel your pain there...

You can find a way, there's always a way.

If they can keep them together it will be hard to stop.

HP per liter is a cool bragging number but thats about it. The 1989 SHO had more HP per liter than both of them but cannot touch a new Challenger. The only thing I really dont like about the Challenger is the plain interior.

If the non-SRT8 version of the Challenger is reasonably priced I might have to add one to my garage. :D I would own a Hemi Challenger for Mustang GT money ... but I'm not going to pay Shelby money for one.

Bottom line, I was too poor and too young the first time round, Im getting one this time. The way gas prices are going, the end of the muscle car is coming soon.

Before I'd spend $65K on one of these I'd get one the Roush limited edition Mustangs my dealer has for sale. One at 435 HP (with 427 branding) is 1 of 100 at 67K out the door, with coil-overs and full adj. suspension for racing. The other P-51 at 510 HP w/ 510 ft. lbs. is 1 of 151 and about $75K IIRC. That last one has completely custom built up internals by Roush.

I wish the Charger had a similar grill.

I can't stand the grill on the current Charger. It looks like a Dodge Durango.
