Just got back from a block party in the New Orleans area, 17th year for this one.

Of particular % the host are good friends. They are in their 60's and had built a retirement house only to have 10' of water from Katrina. After Katrina they sent out an email looking for a place to stay in N.O, near the Dome, not a good idea. We had evac and I told them rent our house for the cost of our evac apt.

When I gave her a tour of the house no one had been there in 30 days, I was equiped to deal w/ any unvited guest while she waited in the car, I kept emphasizing to put our clothes in the kids rooms and the closets would be clear for them. She kept saying that would not be necessary until finally she said but we have no clothes we lost them all!

I said that is not correct, you have my wife's and your husband has mine!

He flew the same kind of planes my dad did at the same time in Guantanamow during the Cuban Missle crisis as my dad.

They bought another home in an area that had 3-4' of water and has come 100% back.

One of the guest, Chuck, I bought my first car from when I graduated from HS, he had a used car lot. 1 year latter my Dad bought a car from an individual who used Chuck's shop and had Chuck check out the car for us. Chuck's shop serviced all our car's including hopping up mine.

Chuck expanded into a Maserati Dealer and then had problems w/ an unscrupulous salesmen when he went on his honey moon with my HS sweet hearts older sister, that was just pure coincidence that I did not know until latter.

One day I walked into an Auto Parts store that Chuck happened to own. Thats when I found out he was married to my HS sweet heart's sister.

I had not seen Chuck in 20 years, he is divorced but still good friends w/ a HS sweet hearts older sister. We talked about some of the techs that worked on my car that he still kept up with.

On the way back from p/u the Marauder from Dennis Reinharts many were attracted to the car and came over to visit.

Cars are the mechanism that has facilitated me meeting so many people. It has had a great influence on my life.

Mercury Marauder has renewed that experience. I want to thank all those I have interacted with.
